Jail administrator terminated

Freeborn County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to terminate the Freeborn County jail administrator at the center of an internal investigation.
Jail Administrator Marcelino Peña had been on unpaid administrative leave since Sept. 5 and paid administrative leave since July 23.
He had worked for the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office since 2004.
Freeborn County Administrator John Kluever said the investigation related to allegations of misconduct by a law enforcement officer, but he could not comment further.
Freeborn County Sheriff Bob Kindler also declined to discuss the nature of the investigation.
The commissioners have discussed the issue in closed session.
Is kindler cleaning house? or, are our cops just that dirty?
