This time I don't have a picture to post; I am actually requesting a little bit of help. (More like begging...please...please help me out here!!)

Does anybody have, or know somebody who might have, old pictures of the guys who worked for the railroad companies here in A Lea around the turn of the century?

I am deep into my family's genealogy and have been desperately trying to find just one picture of my great-great grandfather, so far with no luck.  He worked as a pageman on the 1st street crossing from the late 1800's until he retired, probably in the 1910's or 20's.  I am thinking that this will be my last hope to ever finding a picture of him or knowing what he looked like.

I'd also like to find pictures of other rail workers; his brother-in-law was also one, working in the roundhouse.

If somebody could help me dig up any old pictures of these railroad workers, who knows...maybe, just maybe, these guys could be in one of them.

I would really, really appreciate any help...thanks!

Glu, have you researched the Freeborn County Historical building and the public library? I know the FCH has many historical pictures of AL.

I've looked through some of the books at the FCH library, but not all of them.  Work hours coinciding with library hours makes it a bit of a challenge.    :(

The last time I was there, though, I didn't ask the librarian for those pictures specifically...so maybe she can help me out.  She knows that place like the back of her hand!

Thanks for the advice!
