Do you have an address for this?  I had heard that this is the building on the SE corner of Central Park.

No idea where it was. The picture was taken around 1905 (I think).

What year was Naeve built?

I've also heard it's down by Central Park, but can't tell you where.

I could be way off base here, but I seem to recall someone telling me that the house on the corner of Clark St. and ummmm....can't remember the name of the street that intersects it. Human Services is on the left corner and the house sits on the right corner. The house sits kiddycorner of the park. As I looked at the picture, it sure looks like the very same house that is there now. But.....I could be wrong too, that's been known to happen a time or 2  :p

This house no longer exists.  It is not the one on the SE corner of Clark and St. Mary, across from First Lutheran.

However, you are close.  I believe this house, once used as a hospital, was located where the old Armory (now Human Services) is now.

The cornerstone for the original Naeve building was laid in May of 1911.

Another hospital building is now the B&B at the north end of Washington.

Theat other building on the corner of St. Mary & Clark St. was a bath house/turkish bath.  It was still in operation as that anyway about 1969.....

The building on the corner of St. Mary and Clark was originally built as a funeral home.

Since we are discussing photos from around town, has anyone seen the haunted image from the theatre renovation?  The story goes that the theatre was once used as a makeshift hospital/shelter.  The person taking the picture is facing the new vanity and mirror when the photo is taken.  In the mirror is an ovbvious woman holding an infant.  She is dressed in clothing form back then.  I have seen it but don't know where to go to look for a copy.  It is quite eerie!!!

I've heard of this photo and know it exists but have not seen it.  I understand the woman may have been a victim of the influenza epidemic during world war one.

I would love to see the picture from the theater restoration again. I used to have it but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have it that they could post?

thanks
