Spent 5 days at St Mary's for an epilepsy study and lost 10lbs. I'd rather eat MREs, or even the c-ration ham loaf over the crap they serve.

There was honestly nothing edible. I ordered a bagel and it was toasted all the way through. I don't know how you could even do that. And their bacon was inedible, I didn't know inedible bacon even existed until then.

I started having weird vomiting episodes 9 years ago, there was no nausea just uncontrolled vomiting then afterwards I was in an altered mental state but I thought it was from being exhausted. The episodes stopped after I started talking epilepsy medication but recently returned to the point I was concerned that it would cause me to have a heart attack during one.  A couple weeks ago I was thinking clearly enough during an episode to get a selfie for only the 2nd time in 9 years. The 2 pictures side by side made it pretty obvious it was neurological so they had me do another epilepsy study and on the 3rd day caught one on EEG. So after 9 years and over $1,000,000 in tests, treatments, and hospital stays we finally have an answer.

They added an expensive medication called xcopri that has a 20% chance of stopping my seizures entirely. I'll see the autoimmune neurologist next week to try to get my body to quit attacking my brain and decrease the swelling to try to stop them that way too.

To quote George Carlin " it's all guess work in white coats"

You once said you were having up to six episodes a day if I'm not mistaken.

Your hospital stay and dietary change seems to have reduced these episodes.

Is it possible it's something environmental or dietary?

Once met a guy who had been putting a 3M coating on concrete drives and ramps professionally for years, finally his body had reached it's limit had all the exposure it could take, he started having episodes similar to yours..

just a guess without the white coat...

The reason I'm down from 5 or 6 a day is an incredible amount of medication, and immune suppressants. I think with most autoimmune  disease you always try to come up with reasons it could be triggered. I actually thought it could be spicy ramen for about a month. Now when I come up with weird stuff like that Sue just says, "Like hot ramen?"

The Dr that had me admitted has written papers on CBD and THC treatment for intractable epilepsy. From what I've personally experienced no neurologist has blinked an eye over it's use. On the other I recently had a dr tell me to be careful taking a daily antihistamine because it can trigger a seizure.

I saw a neurologist today that told me that the autoimmune swelling in my brain has caused some permanent damage. It was kind of ironic, the dude was wearing Ferrari framed eyeglasses and told me I have brain damage.

It may not be much consolation but the thought quality of your posts exceeds most..

If I had the medical tests they've given you I'm sure they find several issues...
