What happened to the Island? it looks terrible. Why were trees cut down?

Two large ash trees and a smaller maple tree were removed from Katherine Island yesterday and today. These trees were in very poor condition and a considerable risk to park users. Park Department staff will be replanting new trees on Katherine Island later this year.< https://www.facebook.com/cityofalbertlea/posts/10156405370767216 > |
