Main and Garfield truck is there everyday .

Mine is still growing...then again, it is a Southern variety, so it kind of needs what we really haven't been having till recently...heat and dry conditions :)

Got some from Main and Garfield the other day.  Fantastic!!

The stuff from the trucks isn't locally grown corn.  Not sure where it comes from but if you go by there early enough you will see em unpacking it from small wooden boxes.  On the 4th of July weekend there was even a pallet of the boxes at the nose of the truck.  I've gotten it from there before but now that I know its not local, I will wait for the stuff from the farmers market.

Prices are too high as well. Guy sits there raking in cash all day and still has to be high dollar.

There is LOCALLY GROWN sweet corn for sale at the old stables site.  Grown and sold right there.  It's excellent and only $4 a dozen!  Can't beat that!
These same people do have a dark green truck that they were selling corn out of at the Shopko parking lot on Sunday as well.
Stop out and give it a try.  It's WONDERFUL!  Best corn I've ever had and you can't beat the price - or the fact that it's locally grown and freshly picked each day - often many times within a day!

Nelson's County Market had horrible sweet corn. Taste like wood.. :p

$3 per dozen is the limit really.  Anything more is really unfair and asking too much. You aren't paying tax and neither am I.

Don't like the price? Grow your own...you have experience.

bought some this afternoon, they pulled them out of a cooler that was iced down. Fresh!

Is it the real McCoy? What color is it?

You know me, it's all about the genetics when it comes to plants. Is it the real deal or is it some counterfeit Ebay seed?

Someone else mention County Market. Ya, I agree, the stores really screw up the sweet corn every year. It seems like they really prefer buying loads of the cheap card board tasting "feeder pig" corn and selling it as fresh picked sweet corn.  In grocery stores it's really hit and miss and most of the time it's a big miss. Who tastes this crap before they buy it for these stores?

a red pickup in Shopko has the best of candy corn OR good ole fashion yellow sweet corn.  He is alocal farmer and is the best I have tasted,

The Stables corn is bi-colored.

Really good and sweet.  Best I've ever had!

I planted later then most, but I have some corn starting to come on myself. Guess I could pride myself in saying I am one of a very select few growing corn within the city limits :D

I have Peaches n Cream variety, bought from a seed warehouse in Georgia (where it is native). It is a super sweet bicolor variety. We won't talk about what the rain has done to my other veggies (that are used to drought conditions)

Small kernel candy corn at the Stables is the snappiest around, its the BEST.. :woohoo:

Made the mistake of buying tomatoes from the truck parked down at the sewing place across from Kwik-Trip. I actually bought corn from this kid also. Had the tomato last night on a veg. hamburger. It was so tough and had zero flavor. I wish I would've read this thread beforehand. I haven't had his sweet corn yet :dunno:

I bought some of the sugar enhanced sweet corn at the Farmers Market on Saturday from two older fellows. It was husked, cleaned and in a bag for  $5.00/dozen and it was incredible! We've already eaten it all and it's only Monday    Yum-yum!!!!! :)

I've had some sweetcorn from the guy at A-Best sew and vac shop. It was excellent, very sweet. The canteloupe was great too!

I see Bisek's signs are up.  You can never go wrong there.

Hey..I am pumped! I am local and I grew my own corn ( :p @fredbear   ).
I just went out and checked, and counted, and found that I have got to have over 2 doz. ears out there. Problem is, some bird, insect, or critter has eaten off the silks from the tops   so now I have no clue when they are ready to be picked.

On a separate note...my mutant peas are still growing, and have reached 6ft tall...this is what happens when too much rain reaches a variety made to withstand drought or very dry conditions (as we have had the past few years)...

We bought 4 dozen from the Stables area to take on vacation and it was really good corn. The relatives visiting from Colorado all thought it was great corn too.

Some of our tomato plants are over 5' tall.  Picked my first ripe cherry tomatoes today.  Yummmmmmmmm!
