Election results from 2016 in Freeborn County.
Tim Walz won with 8,386 votes.
Dan Sparks won with 8,547 votes.
Donald Trump won with 8,808 votes.
So I have to ask how many Democrats crossed party lines and voted for Trump? Numbers don't lie!  :dunno:

Maybe not so much as crossed as didn't vote. I've heard from many here that the Bernie fiasco soured them to the point they weren't going to vote for Hillary so didn't vote at all.

Never underestimate the power of idiots in large groups.

^^ it''s not nice to pick on the Dems like that.

Why does it have to be someone who crossed party lines?  You do realize there are people who just vote for who they believe to be the better candidate rather than just blindly follow a party, right?
Posted by Self-Banished on Feb. 17 2017,8:59 am
^^ let me be a bit more specific, hard line Dems.
Better?

^^^the City Journal is a quarterly magazine published by the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a conservative think tank based in New York City...propaganda...

Trump and the Union busting Republicans have conned the American People ...Trump is no friend of the workingman..

^^ but Unions leaders were meeting with Trump a week or so ago and singing his praises.

^^Trumka may have extend the courtesy of a visit, he may have even thanked him for Carrier, but make no mistake about Trump's past record with labor,
it speaks for the future of the workingman in this country.

The legislation being moved in the House Of Representatives will soon come to light as some of the most anti-worker of the twenty first century.

Trump himself said the wages in this country are too high, he said during his run for President he wouldn't raise the minimum wage.

His appointments to the cabinet pushed by the GOP, and his appointments to the National Labor Relations Board are hostile toward labor itself..

Just like his tax cuts trumps economy is geared toward the 1%ers at the expense of the working class.

His cards are on the table for anyone with the smarts to read them..

Posted by Self-Banished on Feb. 18 2017,11:39 am
^^ yet Trumka went in there and gave Trump a big wet sloppy BJ.

Keep dreaming Nazi.

Democrats have a platform and Republicans have a platform. You pick a party because of their platform and vote for their candidates.

In my opinion this is exactly what is wrong in America today.  Why do we have to be so polarized?  Why is it if someone has a different belief, a different idea, or support a different party or candidate that we right away turn to name calling?  Just because someone thinks differently than you does it really make them an idiot?  Or even worse a Nazi (really?  Because someone thinks differently than you, you are going to say they are this?  Could it be any worse?)?

We need to get rid of the 2 party system.  We need to get rid of the endless money being dumped into campaigns.  We need to get rid of politicians.  We need statesmen.  We need independent thinkers and doers.  We need to put our country FIRST, not our political affiliation.

Why is it that no matter what someone from “the other side” comes up with it is wrong, a horrible idea and they must be an idiot for even thinking it?  Sadly, I’ve seen this happen.  Someone tells someone an idea on something, the other person says yeah that makes sense.  Then the second person finds out that the first person is the opposite party of them and then suddenly that good idea is terrible and the first person is now an idiot.  I honestly believe that one party could come up with the cure for cancer and the other party would say it was stupid and block it from happening.

Until the continuing arguing, insults, and hatred ceases, nothing will be accomplished.  This country is supposed to be the leader in the world.  We are supposed to be the example setters.  Right now we are far from it.  Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, needs to step up their game.  Stop the incessant name calling.  Stop disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing and start working for the common good of all.

Trump has nearly overturned every major accomplishment that I supported over the past 8 years under Obama..

It makes me want to puke my guts out..

As far as money spent during the last election, Trump spent about half as much as stroke lady.

As for being a statesman? Trump's  not but he's a damned site closer to being one than we've had in decades.

As for Nazis? The Dems are on that path.

Please let me know if they have cleaned up their act..

From Breitbarf:

White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said he “could care less” about repairing a relationship with the mainstream media, which he continues to characterize as the Trump administration’s “opposition party.”
