One would think the usual that there should be yard signs galore this close to the election. From what I'm noticing there's not. Not many local race signs, of course no senate but the lack of presidential yard signs is conspicuous by their absence. I noticed this a month or so ago so I started keeping track, so far about 6 or so Trump signs and two Chairman Cow.

The same s for bumper stickers, 3-4 Trump and a couple for Clinton.

What gives?

Most Minnesota residents are well educated and they don't vote for a sign..

They vote for people that are qualified to do the job.. Hint Hint!!

Posted by Self-Banished on Oct. 03 2016,5:40 am
^^ Yes I suppose there are more educated voters but still, there are the unwashed masses that base their decision on what they see on broadcast news such as ABC, NBC, or CBS.

Still, it just seems strange not to see all the paraphernalia usually seen in a major election.

Wow, it changed overnight in my neighborhood, 2 Clinton signs, 5 Trump.

Is the money that people spend on signs added up in the total cost of a campaign?

At first click Trump signs seem more accessible -

Did they petition to have you removed from the area due to the feedlot smell that emanates from your general vicinity at all times?

How many signs did you buy from TV star Donald then?

You mean like the "cabbage" smell that reeks the hallway in your apartment building? No, no smell, also no rusty cars on blocks, no cops with flashing lights at 3am in the parking lot, nor flyers tacked to power poles with your face warning of a local pedophile.

I live in boring old suburbia, nice lawns, no junk in the driveway, low crime though one of my neighbors did confront a couple of intruders a few years ago, he was cleared of all charges.

And I don't allow yard signs.

I went to Rochester today, 6 more, all Trump, no Chairman Cow.

I call 'em as I see 'em.

Oops, I saw a Clinton bumper sticker today, on the back of a Cooper Mini. Is that American made?
Posted by irisheyes on Oct. 08 2016,4:50 pm
^Interesting how Republicans just started caring about where things are made.  I doubt Trump ever checked for an American Made sticker in his life.

Now that he's running for President the American worker and small business person sure are important to him.   :sarcasm:

^^ big reason I don't come to Albert Lea anymore.

I have to admit, though very few and far between, I see more chairman cow bumper stickers (all on foreign made cars) than Trump,

I guess I get to shave their nose with the rear of the trailer. :D

I had to run over to Waseca this morning to deposit a check and for whaterver stupid reason I thought of this thread so I did some counting on the city streets I drove regarding the lawn signs.
Trump: 14
Hillary: 4
Historically MN has been a D stronghold though and I don't expect that to change this year.

I will be heading to Wausau later today and will try and do the same just for S and G's.
I know from all the time I spend in WI that during the Walker election and recall vote that the Walker signs outnumbered everyone else by at least a 3:1 margin outside of the Milwaukee/Madison areas.
I haven't been in the Madison/Milwaukee area much this summer, been mostly lacrosse and the Superior area.
I will do some non scientific counting of the lawn signs and report back as I know you are all dying to know :sarcasm:

Mpls to Hutchensen this morning

0 Chairman Cow

9 Trump

Posted by Self-Banished on Oct. 25 2016,4:54 pm
...and a Chairman Cow on a Subaru.
Posted by irisheyes on Oct. 26 2016,10:18 am
I don't base much on signs, it's more of an indicator of how much your local party is spending on signs than anything else.  If your county Republican or Democratic party doesn't have a few of them on hand, local people won't either.  The state parties are focusing their energy on legislatures races of swing districts.  And the national parties are busy focusing on swing states.

That's a decent amount of time in the car.  Nice scenery along the river though.  I drove through the La Crosse area a couple times this past year, it's nice to see a change from the plains we see around here.

Another chairman cow, on a Taurus this time.

Well, I didn't get to leave for Wausau until late so it was dark for the entire drive.
On the way back yesterday I did do some mental counting and some interesting observations.
Trump signs outnumbered Hillary signs by like 10:1.
However, Hillary won the Bumper Sticker war by the same margin.
I even saw an Evan McMullen bumper sticker as I pulled back into N. Mankato.  First time I'd seen ANYTHING for him.

Posted by Self-Banished on Oct. 27 2016,12:59 pm
Rochester today,

6 Trump
1 Chairman Cow ( I have to admit, it was a larger 3x6 approx. sign)

I've spent a LOT of time the last 5 years or so driving back and forth to all parts of Wisconsin.  Lots of great scenery in that state north of I94.  There are few parts in the south that are decent too but I prefer the north, I like lakes/rivers and trees.
Lacrosse area is pretty too, I'll agree with you there.

I love driving over the I90 bridge from LaCrosse into Minnesota during the fall. The huge bluff with fall leaves staring at you when then the sun is setting.

That bridge project has been an ongoing battle Glad that is finally drawing to a close though! But yes, it is nice drive in the fall!  I've done it hundreds of times.  Same with going through the Taylors Falls area along the St. Croix.  Great drives this time of year!

I was moving around some stuff the day of the election and uncovered some Kerry signs.

I think that was what really tipped the election.
