Stop Gun Violence? Stop Liberalism First

By Jeffrey T. Brown

When malicious people do harm and then clamor for solutions to their own misdeeds, they will seek someone or something else to blame, lest their own actions and motives be accurately fixed as the cause. For the followers of a destructive ideology, it is never the defects within the ideology, or their irrational theories, or their utter failure to understand cause and effect which bring failure and violence. The fault must always lie with people or things which have absolutely nothing at all to do with the ideological and moral defects of the movement.

The left, as mostly consisting in this country of the politically liberal, vocalizes its hatred for the concept of private gun ownership in direct proportion to its increasing seizure of power. As they have enhanced their control of culture, politics, and discourse, they have similarly increased their open rejection of the right of private gun ownership. It is by no means the only right they have devalued. Speech and religion are significantly curtailed by the left, so that only approved speech, and the government-approved religion of Islam, can be openly encouraged. But gun ownership is the right they hate the most. It is the one which totalitarians always hate the most, since it is the only one that can successfully stop dictatorship. They will limit our speech, and insult our faith, and spy on us, and treat us like cattle. But private gun ownership exists to prevent total victory for tyranny.

As liberals preach to us about their virtue in wishing an end to “gun violence”, their sanctimony is both obnoxious and absurd.

Sigh, not to nit pick but..guns don't cause violence, also there is no such thing as gun crime, illegal gun, etc.

Attaching emotional descriptors to crimes involving weapons, is only to mislead and cause the obvious emotional response to an object instead of the perpetrators of said crime.

Following this logic the following countries should be tyrannys:

(guns per 100 residents)

Japan  .6
South Korea 1.1
Poland 1.3
Bolivia 2.8
Ireland 4.3
Philippines 4.7
United Kingdom 6.6
Israel 7.3 (same amount as Iran)
Brazil 8
Portugal 8.5
Switzerland 25
etc. etc

Good ole USA is 112.6(leader of the pack)

Third in the pack is Yemen with 54.8(a real model of democracy) with Iraq proudly coming in 7th place.(nice)

It's not weapons that enslave or free people. It's people, both those willing to be enslaved and those willing to enslave. Your parroted thesis is riddled with holes.

If you're so enamored with these other countries you might want to move there.

Tell me when and where you're leaving and I might come and wave bye-bye :D

These Gun Violence Stats Are So Simple Even the New York Times Can Get Them

By Kyle Becker (7 days ago)  | Crime

The New York Times just ran a frontpage editorial on gun rights in America – the first such editorial since the 1920s. Its argument is simple to grasp: Americans’ gun rights should be curtailed by the government.

122212-FirearmFacts_1

We’ll put aside for now that rights are inherent to human beings and not governments.

Observe the chart above. This graphic from FactCheck.org. Observe that gun ownership is up — contrary to an “independent study” by the Violence Policy Center circulated by Huffington Post and other publications.

In fact, gun homicides are at their lowest level since 1981, with 8,124 such murders. There are over 330 million Americans in the United States, meaning 99.995% of guns are not used in homicides.

I don't know if you're being obtuse on purpose, or if it's by some miracle of genetics, but, point taken either way - please don't reproduce.

And by the way, people generally don't buy guns out of some misplaced sense of doom outside their windows and doors, or out of some patriotic sense of duty to the Second Amendment. They buy guns because they like guns. Period. They might occasionally wish to use them on other human beings, but that's mostly about some deep-seeded sick hatred of themselves and others. It's not about threats, real or imagined, or some image of Charleton Heston's cold, dead hands, or any other one of the reasons the Negro-hating Klan whackjobs in our midst purport. It's simply about hate. And perhaps being somewhat lacking in the manhood department. So why don't you gun nutters stop peeing on our collective leg all the while saying it's raining?

I like guns, too. I have Expert Marksmanship badges in practically every weapons system the Army could throw at me. It doesn't mean I want to build a shrine to them, or vehemently defend them as though they're some disenfranchised ethnic group.

When you self-proclaimed Christians realize that hate never got anyone into Heaven, you'll understand what I said. Meanwhile, keep up that Klan rhetoric. I'm sure God just eats that sh!t up.

Don't be stupid, people are buying now because they are scared, look at Black Friday, 180K+ background checks. They're scared of losing their right to own a firearm, they're scared of an overbearing, intrusive gov. Mostly they're scared of weak leadership that's doing a pisspoor job of protecting.

By the way, children-grand children and pretty damned proud of them.  :D

Disguising a gun fetish behind all those masks--Christian soldier, protector of the people, Constitutional literalist, fear baiting---helps create even more false flags, hoping to impress confused gullible onlookers.

As if weapons will end this society's corruption. Sure doesn't work elsewhere. Just as "guns don't kill" so too guns do not change ideas.

The bunker mentallity of the NRA and followers is good for gun sales, fear, and starving egos. But has done nothing to end ideas of governmental & corporate control. The failure of armed terrorists to make significant change in this respect is proof.

Decades ago India rejected British rule. There was fear of strong-armed Russian interference. India rejected them also, with an almost complete peaceful revolution in the streets. Peaceful protests in this country are generally looked down upon by the armed-to-the- teeth Silent Majority. Peaceful protest for change threatens their inflated egos...and their arguement that weapons are the solution.

PS  Those who use obscene language to prop up their weak-minded arguemnts are best left to wallow in their gutter of choice. At least Breeze's parroting is free of filthy language and ad hominem attacks.

Posted by Self-Banished on Dec. 15 2015,5:28 am
^^Well then, if India did it let's just be an example for the world, we start off big , getting rid of all out nuclear weapons, no negotiations with Russia or China or any of the like, how we get rid of them is another story. Then we scrap our Navy, everything, no carriers, destroyers, absolutely nothing left. From there all the other branches of the military, we won't need to defend ourselves because of all the good will in the world. I suppose after that we could take away the small arms citizens own, wow, what a perfect world it would be

Do you think we'd be safe? Of course we would :sarcasm: we might even get out of the gutter we wallow in. :D

Two other things

Now you like Breeze's "parroting"?

Tingle- tingle.

I never mentioned disarming America's defense forces. Rather I was addressing the weapons fetish sweeping this country. And the propostrous idea that citizens would get up off their ballooning behinds to use them against banking tyranny. Too much to lose as of yet. Jobs with stagnant wages, shares in Wallstreet banks, Trump, endless excuses---all these would be lost. And we mustn't forget the rip-roaring life in AL.

Arleekin(clown)

Barbus(big dog)

Moladietz(good boy)

Murashka(cute little thing)

Mikah(nice girl)

Zloday(thief)

{The names of some (or all) of these dogs have been appropriately and affectionately used by Tully to name Drosophila memory mutants (fly genes) in his work training fly mutants to respond to stimuli.}

It was the audience applause. An Orwellian time warp. Did the applause come first? Or the hate speech? Were the Asian hordes defeated? No matter. 2+2=5. That's what matters.

Not one word previously on ALDF of the GOP debate. Others must be recovering also.

GOP debate attendee tale.

"...Ah, it was more than a Eurasian army that had perished! Much had changed in him since that first day in the Ministry of Love, but the final, indispensable, healing change had never happened, until this moment.

The voice from the telescreen was still pouring forth its tale of prisoners and booty and slaughter, but the shouting outside had died down a little. The waiters were turning back to their work. One of them approached with the gin bottle. Winston, sitting in a blissful dream, paid no attention as his glass was filled up. He was not running or cheering any longer. He was back in the Ministry of Love, with everything forgiven, his soul white as snow. He was in the public dock, confessing everything, implicating everybody. He was walking down the white-tiled corridor, with the feeling of walking in sunlight, and an armed guard at his back. The longhoped-for bullet was entering his brain."

I would guess if there were 100 guns in this country or 100 billion the problem would remain basically the same. The Cold War is/was an example. The inept government would limp along barely able to feed itself, much less rise to tyranny. Voters keep it such. Maybe that's a good thing. The percent of crime would fluctuate with the times, with interest groups claiming success or blaming others. The banks with the same choke hold.

When mass murder was no longer vogue crimminals would invent or copy the next method of revenge and disorder. No doubt there would be profits to be made with each new sociopathic idea. Conspiracy nuts would theorize and incite fear, same as now. Weak and corrupt democratic methods would continue to create a system just barely tolerable for the masses, leaving the elite cashing in. With or without a gun fetish basic human behavior would ride Time's waves of Progression or Regression. Weapons are given way too much credit. And way to much blame.

PS  And Glad I Left, debate is possible when not hunted down by Troll wolfpacks and torpedoed. ALDF can be dangerous waters. Dam the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

A system barely tolerable. There's a concept. The only buffer between how things are now and blood in the streets is the collective of entitlement programs for the poor. And conservatives all but call for the wholesale liquidation of same. Whose side are they on? Not poor people, that's for sure.

If EBT cards and Obamaphones keep riots from happening, so much the better. The only people calling for an end to such things are either no sense of where the real entitlement programs are, or whack jobs that just want to sit back and watch the world burn. But yeah, ending welfare would be that next mass-murder-sparking event here, and the leader who implements it will ultimately find his or her portrait right up there on the same wall as Hitler and Stalin and Mao.

A system barely tolerable.

Skimming through Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" I ran across a paragraph that resonated:

“Why should we tolerate a diet of weak poisons, a home in insipid surroundings, a circle of acquaintances who are not quite our enemies, the noise of motors with just enough relief to prevent insanity? Who would want to live in a world which is just not quite fatal?”

That is the source of my paraphrase.

She spoke of environmetal issues related to various toxins, both physical and emotional. The idea of "a diet of weak poisons" crosses all boundaries of society---social, environmental, political, religious.

That "circle of acquaintancies who are not quite our enemies"? Yeh, Rachel, I know the feeling.

Sorry, but the Pavla's dog reminded me of something.
During World War 2 some bright boy in the Soviet Union came up with a brilliant plan to stop the German panzers.  The Soviets would train dogs to run under tanks with explosive backpacks on and thus destroy the enemy tanks the idea sounded simple enough and permission was given to set up a unit and begin training dogs using Pavla method of course.  The dogs were first trained to run under tanks to get food, eventually with practice packs on until the unit commander said the dogs were ready to be employed.  well the trainers made two major errors, they didn't train the dogs under combat conditions (no gunfire or explosions), and they used their own Soviet tanks not german tanks to train the dogs to look for food.  The first time they attempted to use the dogs most of them paniced under the sounds of combat and they ran to where they thought they would find food, under their own tanks!  The stories I've read about this program never said what happened to the guy who came up with the idea?
