The Old Quiznos is going to be an Asian Market and Deli I myself will not be doing business there due to the fact they painted over the mural that was on the back of the building.

While I agree that it is a shame that the hard work of a talented artist and many community members is sad to lose like that I don't think that the store owners are necessarily to blame here.  THe building itself has not been recently sold.  THe mural was an agreement between the Quiznos franchisee and the city along with Ryan Heath.  The owner may have asked that the mural be painted over as part of a new tenant, not the other way around.  Note that the owner is a Florida resident, not an Albert Lea native.

The new store from my understanding is the same family that sells spring rolls and fried rice at Hayward Days and sells to many area businesses for lunch catering as well.  I would give them a chance and support them, or at least take the time to find out first hand whether it was their choice to cover the mural or not.  Perhaps they weren't aware of the community significance of it either even if it was their choice.

Even though the mural got painted over...i will say they have some good fried rice. The fried rice is only five dollars plus a little pocket change for the tax.

I will be spending some bucks there.. Thanks for the review..

I hope they don't use monosodium glutamate as a flavor enhancer, it gives me a migraine..
