Just in time for Lincoln's birthday.  Hey, they let these people vote by themselves.

I think people confuse Lincoln as being from the south since his birthplace is in Kentucky.  Kentucky seems like the south now even though it was a border state during the war.

One of my favorite Abraham Lincoln quotes, "I hope to have God on my side, but I must have Kentucky."

I think that is our biggest problem.  Politicians have a hard time with them too.  I think things would be ran a lot different if there were term limits on Congress also.

Don't feel bad about three wrong although you should have used the   emoticon.  Bone up and take the 50 question test link on the same page.

I heard not long ago that the best answer the millennials gave for "Who wrote the Declaration of Independence" was 'Who cares.'

I don't think many of the Republican hopefuls for President could pass the civics quiz either.  Take Herman Cain for example, the man doesn't know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
< Herman Cain, thinks the words "Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness" are in the Constituion. >

Or this one, at the 4 minute mark we find out he doesn't know the difference between pro-life and pro-choice.
< He's pro-life, but doesn't think the government should be involved. >

It's an interesting historical document, particularly the process behind the rough draft and editing for the final draft, but it's given too much credit.

I saw a poll on the National Archive website once that said the Declaration of Independence is the most well known document.  It's so well known that people frequently misquote it when they're referring to the Constitution.   :(

< DEA Warns Of Stoned Rabbits If Utah Passes Medical Marijuana >

QUOTE
Where would this country be if Peter Cottontail got cottonmouth?

Matt Fairbanks, an agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration's "marijuana eradication" team in Utah, testified to a state Senate panel last week, and said rabbits could get addicted to pot, lose their natural instincts and sit around getting high all the time should a bill pass that would allow medical marijuana edibles in the state.

Fairbanks testified in opposition to the bill, and spent some of his testimony splitting hares, according to The Washington Post. He claimed that illegal pot farms could have bad environmental consequences, and said he saw rabbits addicted to weed at illegal grow sites.

Posted by grassman on Apr. 12 2015,7:59 pm
Ok, here you are.

Now that 2014 has gone on the books as the best year for employment growth in 15 years, the official figures show that the U.S. had 6,371,000 more people employed in December than it did when Obama took office in 2009. So during Obama’s first six years in office, the U.S. has added nearly five times more jobs than it did during the entire eight years under President George W. Bush. (Bush’s total was just under 1.3 million.)

Bush’s record suffered from a loss of nearly 4.4 million jobs in the last 12 months of his presidency, and we can’t say what the last two years of Obama’s tenure will bring.

The official unemployment rate has now dipped to 5.6 percent, which is 2.2 percentage points below where it was when Obama first took office. It is not only the lowest jobless rate in six years — it is slightly better than the historical average. Since 1948, the monthly jobless rate has averaged 5.8 percent.

Some scars from the Great Recession of 2007-2009 still linger. There are nearly 2.8 million people suffering from long-term unemployment — being out of work for 27 weeks or longer. That is 86,000 higher than it was when Obama entered office.

From Fact Check.Org  2015

Now go to bed and have dreams about Ronald Reagan! :D

I see the numbers. That is a different look at it. Now let's determine who these people are.
When the ch!t hit the fan in the recession, it was mainly white collar workers who took the hit. This is usually what happens when companies get top heavy after eliminating easier targets of cutting costs. These were higher paying jobs. Human nature says, once you have something, you really hate to settle for less. That being said, some will not settle for less. They are going to hold out until that golden job shows up. Now you, yourself has said that the market dictates what someone is worth. It historically has taken more time to build a level of pay than rip it down.
There is work out there, if one wants to work for that pay. The problem is, now business has found new  wealth and they are not going to easily give it up. They just raised the bar on who they are going to take advantage of now.
Is that the Presidents fault? I think you are against the raising of minimum wage are you not?

Automakers Ask Nation If It Still Wants That Handle Above Car Windows

NEW YORK—Emphasizing that it was no trouble to either keep them or do away with them entirely, the world’s automakers assembled Monday to ask the public if it still wanted that little handle above their car windows. “We’ve been putting these interior handles over your car windows for the past 50 years or so, and we just wanted to check to see if you’d like us to continue doing that,” said General Motors CEO Mary Barra, who appeared alongside the heads of major auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Ford, and Hyundai-Kia and stressed that while they personally thought the handles were a nice feature, it would not be a problem at all to discontinue them in future models. “People generally use them for hanging dry cleaning or grabbing during a sharp turn, but maybe you’d be perfectly happy without them. That’s fine with us. Just let us know what works for you, one way or the other.” Barra also emphasized that in the event the handles were eliminated, they could easily be reinstalled if the public really missed them.

< Residents unhappy with name of firearms store >

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. (AP) — A western Wisconsin firearms retail store is drawing ire from some local residents because of its name.

About a dozen people spoke out against the signage for F-Bomb Ordnance during an unusually packed city council meeting earlier this month, St. Croix Falls Mayor Brian Blesi said. The residents thought the signage violates the nuisance ordinance.

“The innuendo around it is enough that it really lowers the standards in this community,” resident Amy Klein, who spoke out against the business’s name at the meeting, said Friday. “I just think that we as a community need to hold ourselves to higher standards.”

The city council will take up the issue again today.

F-Bomb Ordnance’s owners said they’re not trying to be inflammatory and that the business should be able to display its name and website — f-bomb.net — on the building.

Hey SB.  You seen this man driving a big rig?

Amir Meshal had been attempting to get a Class A license in Minnesota.  Tuition was paid for by the State Workforce Program.(is this expat's socialism at work?)  MnDPS confirmed he earned his license according to the < Canada Free Press >.  He's also applied for a school bus permit to haul school kids.

Problem.  Amir Meshal is on the terrorist no fly list.  DHS acknowledges this man as a terrorist threat.

QUOTE
In May 2014, Meshal was removed from a Bloomington, Minn. mosque, Al Farooq, after he was suspected of radicalizing young people who would later travel to Syria. According to the police report, religious leaders said, “We have concerns about Meshal interacting with our youth.”  Meshal had previously been asked to leave an Eden Prairie, Minn. mosque for similar reasons.

The ACLU recently sued TSA and Homeland Security to have Meshal removed from the “No Fly” list.  But Homeland Security responded in a letter obtained by the FOX 9 Investigators that Meshal, “..may be a threat to civil aviation or national security,” adding that, “It has been determined that you (Amir Meshal) are an individual who represents a threat of engaging in or conducting a violent act of terrorism and who is operationally capable of doing so.”

In 2007, Meshal, a U.S. citizen of Egyptian descent, was arrested in Kenya by the FBI, suspected of leaving a terror training camp in Somalia.

Liberal students at the University of Texas organized a rally in response to the open carry laws on campus.  I guess you have to almost be a DH to do something this stupid.

QUOTE
< Students at University of Texas-Austin to Hold Rally >

Some students at the University of Texas in Austin are fed up with the Lone Star State's friendly attitude toward firearms, which has led to new state laws relaxing rules for carrying guns on campus. The students are skipping old-fashioned acts of dissent like marching and carrying signs. Via social media they've begun planning for an in-your-face, sex-positive protest of the new laws: "Campus Carry."

On the Facebook page set up to organize the protest—which is set for August 24, 2016—Jessica Jin wrote that under Texas laws there are heavier penalties for bringing sex toys into classrooms than for carrying firearms, because "Heaven forbid the p#n*s."

S.B. 11 is the Texas "campus carry" law that has Jin and others so pissed off. A Houston Chronicle report explained the protest's timing and why S.B. 11 has stimulated some hot, heavy and throbbing complaints:

Gov. Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 11, the campus carry law, in June. Starting in August 2016, the law will allow properly-licensed firearms owners to carry concealed handguns into most buildings on campus. The law also gives a certain amount of latitude to campus presidents, however, to designate so-called "gun-free zones."

In her Facebook post, Jin quoted University of Texas rules that do clearly prohibit expressing "obscenity" on campus to emphasize why dilxxxs were a logical choice to display objections to the campus carry law. Jin ended on a helpful note: "I know that quality dilxxxs, especially super large ones, can be a little pricey. If we can gather enough willing participants, I will personally take it upon myself to put in the time and legwork to find a dilxx supplier sponsorship."

Using sex toys to make some kind of point about gun safety isn't a new idea—in May, BuzzFeed highlighted an unsettling campaign by a gun safety organization that used photos of kids innocently playing with sex toys to make a point about keeping guns secure in the home.

Whatever your opinions on open-carry firearms or dilxx-wielding protesters, we can probably all agree the UT-Austin protest could become dangerously confusing if someone decides to pack a plastic personal private poker that looks like this.

Flaunt them if you dare.  Even the UT-Austin Tower looks like it joined in.  :p
