I have dealt with motor Inn before and  did not have nothing real bad to say about them ,thought they treated a cust fine . well all that changed when my daughter had to have a new key made and since they did not have another key to go but they looked it up per vin no# and said it was a special key and charged her 65.00 omg,, she took that key to the hardware store and had a copy made for 3.50
good mark up

Is it a later GM key? I think since about 2007 or so those are micro chipped keys.

Good luck getting that $3.50 key to run the car.  Might as well strap it to the assend of the car for the next time she locks herself out of it.  :D

Ignition and door keys aren't the same anymore, they haven't been for quite a few years.  By the 90's many ignition keys had a little resistor in them to help with anti-theft.  Newer ones than that have a computer chip like S.B. said.

People complain about dealers, but like many things you get what you pay for.  Want OEM parts, dealer specs and manuals, and scantools (computers) that will tell you more about your on-board-diagnostics than the $50 piece of crap the guy at Autozone or Advance uses?  Yep, you'll need a dealer for that.

It could be worse, some of the newer ones have an al in one key-door unlock-remote starter thingy bob. When we bought my wife's Cruze, the salesman said they were about $200 plus :(

it is a 2000 and does not take the special key with a chip . that is what they tried to tell her but it isn't . the new key from the hardware store works fine . she tried to tell them it was a normal key

When I bought one of my cars (someplace else).  They told me the keys had a special chip in them and would cost $75 to replace.  They also said that if they had to replace one key then they had to replace all because of the way the chip worked.  Not sure if that was true as we haven't had key issues.

Had the engine light on the dash lit up.  Took it to the local Ford garage.  They put in on their diagnostic computer.  An hour later they said everything it could be checked out, it must be a gas cap.  The bill for this Special-High-Intensity-Technosis was $168.23.  So don't go off on the Motor Inn, it is the car business, they all put a little S-H-I-T in with the service.

I've had nothing but luck at Motor Inn when it comes to buying used cars.. Offer 20% less than sticker price and settle at 15% off..

Anyone out there have any luck selling a car by themselves?  If so, what worked?  Where did you advertise?  How long did it take, and did you get what you were asking for?

Liked motor inn until they quit giving rebates from castrol and on top of it most of the time they wouldn't fill the tranny fluid when it was low. That wasn't to bad of a problem because i could do that but one day i specifically asked them to test the battery because i had problems with it being started they told me it was good. It most definitely was NOT because the next day it was clicking again so i put is on the charger and left it on trickle charge a few  hrs and it still clicked. My uncle helped me replace the battery and it started right up like it was 100 degrees out and it was only about 15. So after that i switched to sanderson and no problems at all. The only thing i would recommend about motor inn is getting your vehicle waxed their by Roy. Don't know about buying a vehicle their though.

The guy that hit that woman last night, does he work for Motor Inn?  Leslie Jones of Hartland.  The police picked him up from there this morning.

Don't know. He could have went to have his marker light fixed and they called a tip in. Sad that someone would be stupid enough to leave like that it just causes you more problems and you have a guilty feeling anyway but i would think leaving would make that feeling worse.  :(
