Self inflicted.  He just couldn't handle it after the indictment was served for lying.

Yep, and I apologize for my part in the dark political crap. We have to become more aware of what is really going on, but at the same time we have to live and enjoy our lives. Or what's the point of fighting for anything.

My family and I can't wait to go camping. We love Beaver Creek State Park outside of Caledonia. It's gorgeous. A lot of great trails, some easy to travel, some difficult, such beautiful scenery. Some great trout fishing. Great fishing of all sorts over in that part of the state. I lived in that area for several years when I was growing up. Every time I'd walk out the front door I'd think "Wow" so beautiful. Rushford, Peterson, Houston. Gorgeous little towns nestled in little valleys.
Hopefully we'll be able to get some Morel mushroom hunting in next month. Caledonia isn't too far from La Crosse Wisconsin, We love Granddad Bluff overlooking the city and river. There's a river boat cruise in La Crosse that has special things every day of the week. We took the pizza night cruise one night last year, it was a blast and I couldn't believe how cheap it was.
Hopefully the weather gets on track! I planned on setting the tent up this weekend and getting it ready for camping. I guess I'll wait a while longer. I'm starting to have dreams about fishing, can't wait to get some of that in.
How about you SB? Any fun plans for spring?

Good review, Rosalinda, the Root River valley is a beautiful area....we've traveled there for years and camped at Wild Cat Landing south of LaCresent for the past 27 years.  It is getting expensive, but you cannot beat tenting on the shores of the Mississippi.

Sounds like fun Roz. :D

For me and my wife, 38 days to vacation on Lake Vermillion.

It is beautiful. I miss all the hills, streams and valleys. Have you ever been able to be in that area for that short perfect time when all the leaves are changing color in the fall? I've never been to Wild Cat Landing, I'll have to check it out. LaCrescent has one of the best apple orchards I've ever been to. I don't recall the name, but if I remember right, it's on a hill right above the town, straight across from the bridge that crosses the Mississippi into LaCrosse. (They also make the best apple butter I've ever had in my life.)

Awesome SB. I've never been to Lake Vermillion but it sounds wonderful. I'd love to catch some of those ginormous fish I've seen pictures of caught in that lake! I hope you and the Mrs. have a great time and a safe trip.

The way the weather has been SB, you might have to use one of those top water lures to cast out onto the ice.

Oh don't think I'm not following the ice reports. (finger's crossed)

If there's ice I'll just take off a different week.

Maybe the ice will be out at our cabin by Brainerd, could go there.

Wildcat Landing is located just south of Brownsville, MN.  I've considered moving there because of its scenic beauty.

Lanesboro city park was a fun and cheap camping area before the bike trail came thru.  It is still a nice town to visit on a day trip.

I lived in Rushford, Peterson, Houston and Caledonia for a few years when I was a teen, and moved back to Houston for a couple of years when I was an adult because it's so beautiful in that area. I had never heard of the town of Brownsville before! I looked it up after your comment, it's beautiful. We are definitely going to go camping at WildCat Landing this year. They don't have 2013 prices posted on their website, but 2012 price was $20 a day for a primitive site. It's gorgeous, I feel I was robbed by not knowing about this town sooner! Thank you HairHertz.
My youngest two children went on a 3 day camping trip with their class a couple of years ago to Eagle Bluff in Lanesboro. They loved it. I used to camp at a spot down below Eagle Bluff years ago. A farmer would let people camp in part of his cow pasture. Beautiful spot right next to the river, just had to watch your step and most mornings we were awakened by cows licking the tents. It started getting too rowdy so we stopped camping there. I'll have to check and see how it is now, maybe it's calmed down again. My youngest two would love to camp there. Can't beat the price.- Free!
