i am not looking for them to improve a whole lot from the 2011 season, but i hope i am wrong! 6 wins & 10 losses is my guess.

3-13 is my guess. With the new stadium, we can watch the Vikings choke for decades to come.

There's no 0-16 :(

Bunch of overpaid jackasses as far as I am concerned.  Would be interesting to point out the similarities between professional sports and slavery to most of the players.  Rich white guys paying large sums of money to other teams to have them come to their team.  On another note.  When the new stadium is completed as long it was funded with taxpayer money, the state should make it mandatory to have 50 cents from every ticket sold for any event occurring to go into a escrow account for repairs and improvements, so they wont come begging again.  Just my thoughts.

Vikes:  5-11 record
Twins on path to 101 losses, imho

Jeez, I guess...  :D

I have long since given up on the Vikings. I have taken away their power to disappoint me, by no longer caring.

Amen to that! I stopped caring when they lost 41-0 to the Giants in the playoffs 10 years ago or so.

I did watch the playoff game against the Saints, "just to see" - and was disappointed. I won't let them disappoint me again unless they make it to the Super Bowl. They've blown four of them in my lifetime, but I didn't catch any of those games since I was only 6 or 7 the last time they made it there.

^for me it was the second year of Kramer :p

Though the Denny Green era was entertaining.

If you combined all of the time I've spent watching the Vikes in the past decade, it might add up to 2 full quarters of football.  This from a guy who never missed a game years ago.  I suspect I'm not the only one.

What I really dislike is when the die-hard fans chastise those who hop on the bandwagon at the end of the season for not having watched all season long. Lighten up. Nobody cares how many games you watched. If the Vikings do somehow get into the playoffs, of course more people are going to watch. You don't somehow have more right to watch for having "been there" all season long.

I'd extend that to include any diehard sports fan.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)

The Minnesota Vikings have decided to take advantage of a new NFL policy that makes it easier to keep home games on local television.

The Vikings announced Thursday they'll reduce their target number by about 6,000 seats to 90 percent of Mall of America Field's capacity. The stadium fits in roughly 64,000 fans, and the same number of tickets will still be available for sale. But now a game would only be blacked out if fewer than 90 percent of tickets were sold.

The Vikings have a blackout-free streak of 144 straight games at the Metrodome since 1998. But after a 3-13 season, keeping that up will be a challenge. The downside of opting for the lower target is the Vikings must forgo more of their revenue to visiting teams.

Taking advantage of the new NFL blackout rule will have it's good and bad points.  Bad for Packer fans who will likely see fewer games locally, but look on the bright side;  we'll get to see the Vikings lose more often.

watching the first half against the chargers tonight i am inclined to revise my estimate of the 2012 season to 3 wins & 13 losses! they look just lousy in the first half the only thing that stands out is the kicking game! it was announced that san deigo had 18 players sidelined, so where is the vikes offense?

I must admit, they looked like contenders against the Texans. Maybe the Texans were to consumed  with leaving the Union, that they forgot how to play. I hope Adrian can get his record against the Packers.

I honestly picked them at 5-11 this year.  Over achievers this bunch is.  Much like the 2000 Ravens they are winning despite of, not because of, the QB play.  I fear for AP's future though.  History has shown to not be kind to RB that get used this heavily...

Well, I was wrong, I picked the Vikes to go 4-12.

Haven't watched in a while. I did catch the Texans game, though. I must say it was a pretty impressive short-yardage ground game, the kind da Bears used to crush the Vikes with. Back then, with the Vikes, it was either big plays or no plays, and no red zone offense.

It was interesting to note that Ponder had one of the longest carries of the day. The Texans defense looked like they'd been practicing on how to shut AP down, and little else.

Expect no such mercy from Green Bay this weekend.

i had picked them for a 6 win & 10 lost season ! the green bay game is going to an interesting match up. it is to the vikes advantage as to be indoors as well as a home game. ponder has indeed turned his game around, let's just hope it continues! it seems the defense is getting tougher so just hope they can get the pressure on rogers. field goals might just win the game & right now the vikes have the edge in that department.
