Did anyone lose Internet service in yesterday's early morning storm? We had no power for most of the day. It came back on around 4:30 or 5:00, but no Internet connection.

I did a diagnosis on my computer at home and the modem and connection both appear to be fine, but I'm getting nothing. The only unlit bulb on the hub is the USB bulb. All others are green.

I have Century Link (formerly Qwest) for my service and wondered if anyone else had the same problem. Maybe they have a few things to fix, too.

First of all if you connect your dsl modem to your computer via the ethernet port instead of the usb port you will have a much faster surfing experience.  Sometimes when my "high quality" (read with a lot of sarcasm) qwest dsl modem acts up if I reboot both the machine and unplug the modem and allow it to reboot everything is fine.

I do use the ethernet port. The USB is the only light that does not light up. I will try your suggestion of unplugging and replugging. I thought of that, but didn't have time this morning to do it before leaving for work. I just wondered if any other Qwest/Century Link DSL customers had the same issue.

Thanks!

Unplug the modem wait 5 minutes and plug it in wait for all the lights that normally light up then restart the computer
