News Flash: At 2:00 a.m. we woke up with a loud bang...we looked around and found nothing...since it was raining we though maybe lightening had hit something...nothing. When I went back to bed I felt "crumbs" in my bed...upon investigating found bits of plaster and one of my Barbies laying on the dresser...the cause? A bullet hole in our front wall and the casing was in the Barbie box! Cops came - there had been a shooting at the fairgrounds...geez!
If it would have been a couple of feet lower....
Consequently it is 3:12 and I am still up and shaking

received this in a email today, this must have happened last nite. any conformation as to what went on in the fairgrounds?

confirmation: < http://www.albertleatribune.com/ >

Well, thank God no one was shot...now you know what it feels like to grow up in da hood. Are you and your boys going to retaliate?

Hold on a second, a guy gets nabed for DUI, Name posted everywhere. Get arrested for underage drinking with a firearm from an area with reported gun shots, no name or mug shot.
WTF?
Horse Pucky. Typical fish wrap reporting.

Maybe its the policia, trying not to stir the melting pot...

Not to get nit-picky but the casing or cartridge is the part of the shell where the powder and primer
are encased hence casing, the casing would remain at the sight where the weapon was fired, the projectile is a bullet, so what was found in your home was a spent round or bullet...
To find the casing in your home would imply the weapon was discharged inside your house...

Well, as you already know one thing absolutely certain, voting for the drug war is sure to help curb this type of activity.
And again people, please make sure to always support your local police.

Not to get nit-picky but, I'm going to get nick-picky. :D

I always wondered what a nick picky was.  Now I know.

At the site vs. sight, sorry had to get a little nit picky, also, and cite the difference.   Back to knitting.

Ummm..sorry...if someone touting USMR is posting this...first of all props for being honest...secondly...would be a good reason to get casing/bullet confused. Nuff with the "nit picky" thing...

However...someone touting USMR really shouldn't be admitting they own Barbies either...

i invite you to go back & read the original posting. i clearly stated this was a email that i had received concerning the incident. the writer was a female who i assume knows very little about firearms or ammunition! i do hope that this clears the air about the confusion of the casing & the actual round!
I once had a thought...then it ran off before I could remember what it was...i guess your signature says it all!

Now that the sight of the site has been cited, can you also confirm the conformation?

Hey...if the WRITER of the POST could have made some kind of differentiation between the email and his own thoughts, it would have helped  :p In your original post it made it look like the confirmation via website came thru the email...not that the posting was the email

As to the signature...I am a mom of 4 kids...when they all get going ANY thoughts become scrambled...LOL

It was supposed to be in good fun, which it is unless you are recipient, I guess.  :p

Anyway, what a serious situation.   The bastards deserve more than a slap on the wrist from our courts. :deadhorse:

It's not the Albert Lea of our youth, but time changes everything, maybe Albert Lea will experience a renaissance, time will tell...
