I've been checking out the shoppers site lately and all of a sudden it's not there. "No site exists" was all I got. Anyone know why? < Shopper site that I have used for the past year > Posted by minnow on Oct. 02 2003,6:09 am
Dylan talked the Tribune into buying it. Now they have a monopoly.

Spidey..the link you posted < http://freeborncountyshopper.com/ > did not work for me either, but if you add the www. it works just fine.< http://www.freeborncountyshopper.com/ > Posted by Spidey on Oct. 04 2003,10:31 pm
This is really odd ... I've had that link in my "favorites" forever, and now all of a sudden it quits working, or changes on it's own? Computers ... they would be more fun if they didn't try and trick you now and then! Posted by GEOKARJO on Oct. 06 2003,11:44 am

Boone has owned the Shopper a lot longer than 6-8 months. If I remember correctly, they owned it when I started working at the Tribune in August 2001.

Both the Mower & Freeborn County Shoppers have bene owned by Boone since my beginning employment at the Austin paper (1998) and I know they were owned by Boone for at least a couple years before that.
