Mayor Jean Eaton, expected the number of participants at the six meetings two weeks ago to be higher.

I sure wish I would hear about these meetings. Can we post future meetings on this forum in the future?

"It was very good information," Eaton said. "For once we listened to the people."

???  This comment tells a lot ... it's pretty sad that in 2004 someone is saying "for once" we listened to the people.

Listening and hearing can be different functions.  This is especially when the one listening already knows all the answers.  I saw the price tag on Albert Lea Listens and question that the cost is justified by value gained.

I like the city managers common sense remark.

City Manager Victoria Simonsen expected those findings based on discussions she had upon her arrival to Albert Lea.

"There weren't a lot of surprises. I think the city is already taking steps toward a couple of those," she said, mentioning community cleanup, a new pork company, and Minnesota Design Team, which would physically depict possibilities for enhancements within the community.

The Minnesota Design Team will do way more for this community than Albert Lea Listens did and at a fraction of the cost.

Sorry, Spidey.  I did post the meetings that were to be held at Brookside.  Jim Hanson and mysself attended the last session.  There was only about 18-20 people in attendance.

My fault then ... thanks for posting them. I need to check in here every day. Sometimes life gets so busy ... and then I miss out. :(
