What are "fry"? I am assuming they are fish, but I've never heard of anything being called a fry before. According to the Albert Lea Trib are lakes are being filled with them :)

They are newly hatched fish.   :D

I know they are fish ... so they are like just a bunch of anonymous fish then? Different kinds? All called "fry"? How confusing ... to a non fish person :(

Why don't they let us know what kinds ... like baby walleyes, or northerns?

Ok ... I know you are all laughing out there ... and that's ok. :p

I understand Spidey I thought you wanted to know the age or size whatever.  Sorry. :)

The DNR posts stocking information and lake surveys on thier website.

Fountain has been stocked with Channel Catfish the last 6 years, and this year was the first year that Albert Lea has been stocked in quite awhile.  They were all Walleye fry going into Albert Lea Lake

Fry - Newly hatched fish that are ready to be stocked usually called "swim-ups". Walleye fry are 1/3 of an inch or around 8 mm.

Fish Food :D

Thanks Newbie ... not need to be sorry, I should have been more clear. Maybe most people know what a "fry" is ... not me!!!  However, I do now  :D

Thanks for the links n0esc .. very interesting stuff. What's most interesting is "goldfish" in the lakes ... what's up with that?

I'm not a fish eater ... but I love Walleye if it's cooked right.
