Hi,
Can someone tell me the name of the organization that Tony Trow is involved with in the community (development wise).

You, mean the "Think Tank", that tried to get the city charter changed?

He's the president of Destination Albert Lea.

I called the Chamber--they said DAL was an unpaid position, Trow can be reached at 448-2752.

I'd like to know who the rest of the "movers and shakers" in DAL are--any ideas?

No idea just needed it for an instructor who was working on students volunteering in the community. Wanted to know the name of his civic organization. Couldn't think of it.  Thanks for the help.:)

There now....I actually recognize that vehicle in the picture as being the big old Army truck that Tony owns that he parks on the East side of his business in Glenville. He claims he bought it for camping trips and his wife wouldn't go anywhere in it......probably a lie, since she drove it in one parade. Can you picture him camping anyway.......(time for a mental picture here).  I sure it is everyone's secret dream to go camping in a huge old truck that would guzzle gas at alarming rates...........especially with a huge leak in the gas tank. :p

LOL  :D Trow must be a real goofball.

Well, to be completely honest, sick of it, I believe that would be diesel fuel, not gas. I am not sure, but I think that is a deuce and a half (I don't really know my military vehicles well, but I think that is the type of truck that is) and I am pretty sure they run off of diesel.
It doesn't really surprise me much though, it has been sitting there leaking off and on for a couple of years now.
I just can't believe that the city of Glenville hasn't done anything about it yet, but what do you do?

Define goofball.

You mean like all hopped up on goofballs?
Posted by hoosier on Sep. 12 2003,7:51 am
How about you just happen to drive by smoking a cigarette and unknowingly throw it out the window as you drive by the truck. Mamma, you are so right about Trow camping, I'm sorry but I cant stop thing of a bear, a big, fat, ugly bear, crapin in the woods. Anyway, the first step is what sick of it has done, take a picture, the next thing I would do is go to the Mayor of Glenville. Ifthat doesnt work, then I suggest the cigarette idea.

goof·ball
n.
A foolish, incompetent, or stupid person.

Hoosier, check the flash point of diesel, or fuel oil.  I don't know it for a fact but I think you would just put the cigarette out.

Now why is Trow a real goofball for having a 2 1/2 ton army ordnance truck for those little family outings.  He should have a little artillery too.

He does, his mouth!  :D

Thought at one time I knew where that guy was coming from but he did a 180 as far as I am concerned. Went to Mars or something.

Rosebudinal, no one knows where Trow stands on any issue, truely. This guy takes no stand, he is on the side of what ever group he is with. He could go to a pro life rally and speak in the morning, in the afternoon speak in favor of the pro choice movement. I have seen him in action myself, he is a piece of $hit as far as I am concerned and should never, never be allowed to hold public office. If he runs again, I wont, but I will campaign my @ss off against him. Even the four amigos on our county board that are so incompitant would be better than Trow. Seriously, I know of not one person in the world that would be less qualified to represent the people than Trow.

Maddog--just noticed your new tag line!  Sounds like our County Board to me--but they are trying to change it!  If they ARE Clinton disciples, I wonder what other traits they have adopted?  Questionable campaign contributions?  Sexual pecadillos?    Questionable business practices (maybe there is a "Whitewater" on the Shell Rock)?  A controlling, b***h for a wife? :)

How about the Clinton characteristics they have MASTERED?  High spending, vote switching (campaign one way and vote the opposite), mastering the media, spinmeisters cum laude, pandering to the "power elite"  (Clinton had a fascination for Hollywood, this bunch panders to the local unelected "movers and shakers"), clandestine meetings, and an all-consuming desire to leave a "legacy" or monument (Courthouse). :)

Now, if they would just replace our hyperactive County Administrator with a "wooden man" like Algore!  :)

Jim, I agree with you, but it aint just Clintons characteristics our local politicians follow. You sound a lot like Bill O'Reilly in this post, like demacrats are the only ones doing the things you mention. Other than Whitewater, it looks to me as if you could be talking about either party, but you seemed to lump all your complaints against Clinton and the Demacrats. I got news for you, the republicans are not one bit better than the demacrats when it comes to the things you mentioned. As a matter of fact, in my life time they have probably been worse. I am neither republican or demacrat, I think they both are pieces of $hit.  :D

Power to the people, not the parties.      I love this rockin guy, but dont you think he looks to much like Nixon?

Posted by jimhanson on Sep. 14 2003,9:30 am
Nah, he needs two hands for that! :)

Read the post carefully--I used the Clinton metaphor because THAT'S THE QUOTE on Maddogs tag line--that's all.  Party affliliation--you're right, there are no major differences.  Bush is a big-spending wimp, unable to use power effectively--he can't even break a Democratic filibuster blocking confirmation of Federal judges for 2 years.
