Seems there are rumblings of a shortage of diesel fuel being talked about

“Diesel is the fuel that powers the economy,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. Higher prices are “certainly going to translate into more expensive goods,” he said, since these higher fuel costs will be passed along to consumers. “Especially at the grocery store, the hardware store, anywhere you shop.”

You need to keep your insults straight

The trucks drive was a total waste of resources

Part of the increase in diesels is due the Russian invasion of Ukraine
Part is due to less refineries on the east coast
And part is straight greed on part of the oil industry

So what’s the solution?

Diesel fuel is heavier and less volatile than gasoline, which makes it simpler to refine from crude oil. As a result, diesel tends to be cheaper than gasoline in most countries around the world.

The simple way to make bio diesel.

Posted by Grinning_Dragon on May 12 2022,9:36 am
Blaming russia on the rising fuel cost is BS and prez pedo knows it.  Fuel prices were already on the rise way before the russia ukraine fiasco.
On day one, dipwad signed 25 EOs targeting gas and oil.  One of which pulled a ton of land lease agreements (caveat: one federal court is leaning that such EO is illegal and may be reversed)
During trump, the US was actually a large exporter of oil which helped keep fuel prices down.  Under dumb dumb, that is no longer the case and now the US is relying on imports just like back in the 70s.
It's the current policies that are having a direct effect on the cost of fuel, going back to the polices of the previous admin is preferable.

Posted by Expatriate on May 12 2022,9:47 am
^^the MAGA boys can't admit it was Donald Hoover Trump running the show when oil prices dropped from over a $100. to $37. this was a direct result of Trump's failed economic/domestic policy...It caused the death null for shale...

Posted by Expatriate on May 12 2022,10:08 am
It made shale unprofitable causing 100's of failing Shale Companies to collapse..

Trump bungled the epidemic and caused an economic collapse, fuel consumption fell off drastically..

you know traffic fell to zilch...

Trump's bungling directly correlates to today's situation..

Posted by Grinning_Dragon on May 12 2022,10:21 am
While not perfect and with a few moronic changes in regards to shale, at least the polices of the previous admin kept fuel costs manageable.
As to the mismanagement of the scam-demic, sure trump and the courts bungled that bs by letting dipshit fauci, brix, et al; to basically run the show and didn't fight the moronic shutting down the economy.
TBH, the whole shutdown fiasco was something that never should have happened or allowed to continue for as long as it did.

Posted by was1 on May 12 2022,11:06 am
No. There is a shortage of all fuels.  Refineries have not ramped back up fully after demand came back.

Thinking that the pandemic, which dropped demand, and then the very fast rebound is not the major contributor to inflation and the shortages of many items is just pure ignorance.

But again. What are solutions?  Pissing and moaning and blaming the president isn’t a solution and again just shows ignorance

In the early 1970's OPEC placed an oil embargo on the United States causing shortages and price inflation.

Nixon's response was to Nationalize the speed limit to 55 miles per hr.

When I'm on the interstate doing the 70 limit I'm continually pasted by these dangerous diesel driving lunatics...

I can only imagine the MEGA response if Biden slowed all diesel traffic to 55...

A better response would be to fast track AI Trucking and limit them to 55 as they run 24/7 there actually would be a gain in delivery time while saving fuel.

One of the benefits of the 55 speed limit it not only reduced the number of deadly accidents significantly, this saved US all money by reducing Insurance costs saving lives and reducing debilitating injuries..

a few Stats

QUOTE
Over 40,000 fatal car accidents per year in the U.S.

Each day, more than 90 Americans die in car accidents.

On average, 2 million drivers experience a permanent injury every year.

Almost 8,000 people are killed in traffic accidents involving drivers aged 16-20.

The most common causes of death on the road are drunk driving (40%), speeding (30%), and irresponsible driving (33%).

Some 58% of fatal car accidents involve only one vehicle, and 38% are caused by a traffic collision.

When it comes to fatal car accidents by state, most occurred in Texas and California during 2018.

According to the statistics, most fatal injuries happen during weekends.

Each year, more than 1,600 children younger than 15 die in traffic accidents.

pretty hard to get anybody on the same page these days on anything

can't imagine what a task it would be to get that old WWII victory garden, rationing , lets work together, etc spirit going today

but a concerted effort and addressing a basically glutenous consumption of energy, would seem like prudent smart thing to do.

ultimately people will come up with ideas and solutions to deal with the gas gouging situation

AI trucks, alt fuel cars, scooters, more use of SKYPE type interactions

and stuff that hasn't even been invented yet . . but will be

as the traditional sources of energy monopolies leave the main stage

they're going to get their licks in and gouge us all imo

which has been written about and talked about for decades now hah

that kind of sounds like a car sales ad for low financing for well qualified buyers . . . which are like one in a million

or free training from an outfit like ENGLAND

Posted by Self-Banished on May 14 2022,8:50 am
^^ probably because to make that kind of money you have to hustle, not a lot of people do that anymore.

ENGLAND? They’re a sausage factory, spend three weeks at their facility training (from what I’ve seen, piss poor training) then they’ll put you in a truck, maybe. Then, suddenly, a lease/purchase truck will become available, a truck with 400-500k on it. The new driver is usually desperate to get going, blindly signs papers and is on his merry way. Trouble is a truck with that many miles starts needing a little attention. $200 an hour shop rates, down time will eat you alive. The driver struggles, a few loads get delivered and usually, just before the truck is paid off, work dries up and the company says “sorry” and repos the truck and either leases it to another driver or uses it as a trade in on a new truck for one of there company guys.
