Paul Ryan Says Medicare Privatization Is On
So here we go the SOBs aren't even in office but the attack is well underway...Ryan is tying Medicare to ACA in an attempt to voucher Medicare and ripoff retirees..
And you people believe Republicans represent the people, they represent a narrowly defined sector of the wealthy...

I'm for privatization of as many government boondoggles as possible. :D

Privatization is the boondoggle..we've seen the failure of private insurance in the double digit yearly increases...no such increases have occurred in the government regulated Medicare Program.

Privatization will put Medicare in the same boat ( Titanic ) as the rest of private plans...unaffordable...

Donald Trump promised to keep Social Security and Medicare as is, but I don't believe Trump is much on keeping promises.

To all the Boomers who voted Republican shame on you...
you dummies shot yourselves in the foot..

Paul Ryan’s wish to privatize Medicare, or phase it out, depending on how you want to look at it.

The GOP’s voucher plan works this way:

•           Rather than you going to your doctor and Medicare pays the bill, under CouponCare the federal government will give you a voucher each year that you will then use to go out and buy private insurance out in the open market or to pay for Medicare.

•           However, those coupons’ values are based on the cost of Medicare in a particular community or the second lowest private health insurance plan, whichever is cheaper.  So if, you choose to stay in traditional Medicare, and it costs more than virtually the cheapest plan out there, you’ll pay more.  Let’s be really clear, vouchers are designed to shift costs to seniors.  That’s how the government saves money.

The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates 59% of seniors would have to pay higher premiums in order to receive the same Medicare plans they now have, with the average premium increase coming in at $107 per month, they didn’t even look at co-pays and out-of-pocket costs.

The Congressional Budget Office looked at this in 2011 and said it would double beneficiaries’ costs.

After George Bush won re-election in 2004 and the Republicans controlled Congress, privatizing Social Security was the first order of business.  Here were go again -- but this time your Medicare is the target. The American people don’t support privatizing Medicare; however, it has long been the goal of conservatives who believe seniors should be forced back into a private insurance marketplace which history has proven, over and over again, they simply can’t afford.

Every boondoggle I read about is due to privatization.  Remember how private prisons like CCA (Corrections Corporation of America) were going to save money and do better, only to get far worse results and not save us anything.

IT for agencies:  For over a year there was a news headline about Social Security's "IT Boondoggle."  But very few read far enough to the part where it wasn't an agency problem, but the contractors like Lockheed Martin who were in charge of that IT contract who had cost overruns and they still weren't done.

Or how Medicare Part D using private prescription drug plans was going to save money instead of the government option.  But after five or ten years they hadn't found a single year where the private plans weren't costing more than the government run ones.

Like I said, government boondoggles are nearly always a result of privatization.  Privatization costs us more, which is strange because they produce lower standards.  The private sector should stick to what it's good at, but public services like education and criminal justice aren't on that list.

During Donald Trump's  candidacy for president he repeatedly set himself apart from the Republican field by vowing to protect Social Security and Medicare.

Trump quote:
"Every Republican wants to do a big number on Social Security. They want to do it on Medicare. They want to do it on Medicaid. And we can’t do that,”  “It’s not fair to the people who have been paying in for years.”

Pence quote:
Vice President-elect Mike Pence said Trump “made it very clear in the course of the campaign that we’re going to keep our promises in Social Security and Medicare.”

The Trump campaign promises not to cut Medicare seems to now be another flip-flop. Tom Price, Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S Secretary of Health & Human Services will get his first Senate confirmation hearing on January 18. Price supports turning Medicare into a system of “premium support.” This nomination in-itself suggests Trump now supports efforts to cannibalize Medicare...

For you fence sitters the evidence of Trump's betrayal is evident.

The Republicans are attempting to turn Medicare into voucher ripoff while Trump creates a noisy smoke screen..

H.R.707 - To amend the Social Security Act to improve choices available to Medicare eligible seniors by permitting them to elect (instead of regular Medicare benefits) to receive a voucher for a health savings account, for premiums for a high deductible health insurance plan, or both

Toll roads are great, take a a look at Maine's interstate system, excellant road, clean rest areas (Expat would love that) and the last time I was there, reasonably priced. I have no problem paying for a quality product. Of course freight rates might go up.

So when you were in prison, did the other inmates make you wear makeup or did they just slap you around like a little bitch till your cheeks were rosey
