The school district appears to be headed towards serious trouble. As an ALHS grad, and a former employee of Austin Public Schools, it is discouraging to see Julie Johnson (formerly Jensen), running as the only incumbent. She has a track record of leaving ruin in her wake. Check this out from her time as HR Director in Austin: http://www.austindailyherald.com/2002/12/under-fire/From the article: More than 80 percent of members of unions representing teachers, secretaries, food service workers and custodial workers voted that they do not have confidence in the work performance, leadership and public image of the superintendent and human resources director in Austin. She is unsuccessfully attempting to paint the current AL schools administration in the same light. She also appears to be drifting towards aligning with J Marin, whose most recent claim to fame is demanding the resignation of one of the most respected men in our community, Mark Ciota. So more incumbents should have run? But definitely not this particular one? I think they should skool everyone on computers at home. Eventually they will. . . It would make the most sense. Truthseeker:The Austin Schools HR Director that is referenced the article is Julie JENSEN. Julie JOHNSON is the board member in Albert Lea. Are you sure this is the same person? While it is true that Julie JOHNSON was the HR Director in Austin at one time, I am not certain she's the Julie JENSEN that is the subject of the article. Can you clarify this? Oh Julie Johnson was Julie Jensen in Austin for sure. After they ran her out of town she came home and worked for Daddy at the bank. Was married to Tom... She needs to go...

How long ago was she there? They had their own circus a few years back. By the time it was all over the police chief, a captain on the force and the superintendent were gone. Not exactly unblemished territory there. |
