What is the exact status of the Trade Center story these days?

Doesn't this whole POTUS election seem a little too strange this go 'round?

It's like a Melodrama of sorts.  Donald is tying the woman to the tracks and the other side is the antithesis.

Doesn't it seem a little 'fishy' as they say?

I'm not thrilled about the Goldwater Girl but dodging Donald would be a complete disaster for our country.

Why won't Trump release his Tax returns?

Hymie, as to the conspiracy or fishy... yes Trump of a few years ago was a Clinton supporter if not donor..he invites them to his wedding they attend..and now it's crooked Hillary??

this whole election cycle has all the ambiance of a Jerry Springer Show...

Clocks In Heaven

A Man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "What are all those clocks?"

St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."

"Oh," said the man, "whose clock is that?

"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."

"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?"

St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire Life."

"Where's Donald Trump's clock?" asked the man.

"Trump's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan

^^ if it happens, it happens. It'll be another 4 years on a crap economy, you can say goodbye to the 2nd and we'll more than likely end up in more undeclared wars and nation building (sticking our nose in where it doesn't belong) We'll see more sh!t like Milwaukee, Ferguson and Baltimore and with her immigration policies more attacks like Fort Hood
(Yeah I know, work place violence :sarcasm:)and Florida.

America's sick and tired of "politics as usual". Trump's not perfect, he might even screw things up worse but with him there's a chance we might see better times.

I still find it hilarious the you're backing Chairman Cow, she's most likely complecit in the total screw job Batsh!t took in the primaries. She lies, she's corrupt but if we're lucky, she'll collapse onstage at the debates with her failing health.

I don't particularly like Trump, I think he's a loose cannon but at least he's not your pigheaded-moronic choice of stroke lady :dunce:)

Realclear Politics shows the Rasmussen Reports poll as a bit dated...Clinton controls the Electoral College and the keys to the White House.

The demographics of Trump voters are a narrow band of white nationalist, the same shrinking group who identify with the Republican Party.
The largest voting block in this country are now the Millennials, they're a mixed race generation who show little interest in or with the white nationalist party of old idgits..

Jessie was a well known entity. And Trump is too. Both have had lots of public exposure. Decades.

So I don't think either proves that much about independent candidates.

Best case scenario for the Johnson guy is to split up the vote. And change the outcome.

And he seems more obscure than Pee Row did at this point.

Maybe he won't even muster that kind of impact.

Posted by hymiebravo on Aug. 30 2016,2:23 pm
Some day I'll have to actually look at some of his You Tube material.

I don't doubt that there is a need for more complexity in the choices offered.

But it will need to involve the public more. They are the ones that are going to have to start making changes in way the things are.

It has to more of a ubiquitous culture shift.

Not some pop-up instant savior/messiah.

Posted by hymiebravo on Aug. 31 2016,8:35 pm
Yeah conspiracy theories abound when it comes to why Ross Peru dropped out of the race.  He sure seemed to have a lot of interest and momentum until then.

QUOTE
Presidential Candidate

Always politically outspoken, Perot decided to step off the sidelines and get into the action in the spring of 1992. He was disappointed in President George Bush and didn't like any of the potential Democratic candidates. Positioning himself as a political outsider, Perot wrote about his ideas for rebuilding a troubled America in United We Stand: How We Can Take Back Our Country. He also broadcasted his political views in infomercials, using his substantial wealth to buy air time across the country. Perot had a down-home style and a habit for speaking in snappy sound-bites, which appealed to many members of the voting public. As journalist Paul Burka wrote in Texas Monthly, "Perot is the candidate of the disaffected, the disenchanted, the fed up: the people whose contempt for politics has passed beyond cynicism to despair."

His campaign seemed to gather momentum as the political race heated up. Perot promoted himself as a reformer, building on his success with the Texas Public Education system in the 1980s. But, in July, he dropped out of the race, later claiming that the Republican Party had plans to embarrass his daughter Carolyn before her wedding. According to The New York Times, Perot believed that the Bush campaign was going to start a rumor about his daughter's sexuality.

Perot returned to the race in October with only weeks left before the election. Despite this setback, he managed to garner nearly 19 percent of the popular vote. Perot was the first independent candidate since Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 to receive this large of a share of the popular vote. Still the lion's share of voters chose Democrat Bill Clinton. Perot faced off against Clinton again in 1996, but his campaign failed to win over much public support.

It would be nice to see things move more towards decorum and appreciation of the gravitas that should be present when we're dealing with the presidency.

CNN isn't, and considering how many Republicans tune in to MSNBC just to see a Republican former Congressmen do their bidding, MSNBC's bias depends on the time of day you're watching it.

Most networks are still pandering the false narrative that Hillary lied about Benghazi, or that she did something wrong with an email server while Secretary of State.  Despite overwhelming investigations that none of these was illegal, unethical, or dishonest.  The only thing the news networks are in the basket for is generating ratings for ad revenue.

Obama would easily get elected for a third term if the Constitution allowed it.  Compare Obama's popularity coming out of a second term to your fellow Republican, George W.

Facts are stubborn things, which is probably why Repubs always try to hid them and focus on divisive rhetoric and dog whistle racism (or in the case of Trump, outright racism).

The past hundred years our economy consistently does better with a Dem as President versus a Republican.  Far more recessions, depressions, housing and bank (or Savings and Loan) crashes happen when the GOP is in the Oval Office versus a Dem.  Again, facts are stubborn things.

Hence the James Carville slogan, "it's the economy, stupid."

Trump won't have the first clue as to what to do next, if he finds himself behind a desk in the Oval. He will turn the White House into a reality show.

So the Republican Party basically melts down and puts this boob in play, essentially giving the Dems a free throw. So what do they do? Tired Old Crook. What are they going to do if Trump wins? Wheel the old girl out in 2020?

Trump is a showman, he's always trying to out do the next guy, he overbuilds and overspends.
He plans an expensive military build up, he says his infrastructure plan will be double that of Clinton, more money spent yet he's going to cut taxes, hows that work?
Talk about big government and spending, If we give a blank check to Donald, he'll bankrupt US

The non-partisan Tax Foundation estimated that Trump's tax plan would reduce federal revenues by $4.4 trillion over 10 years

I really don't consider this spoiled rich kid much of a businessman with four bankruptcy's under his belt.
Why won't he show US his Tax-returns, would they show US he's broke again?

The last 8 years haven't been all that bad with the Black Reagan in the White House, Clinton is another Centrist leaning more to the Right.

@ whiskers, the Black Reagan has a pretty good approval rating for being in the last year of his 2nd term..he's been dragging a do nothing congress, what's their approval rating in the negatives?

Trump is a shady businessman who refuses to even show US his tax return, what's with that?

Trump's Secret Foreign Entanglements

Newsweek investigative reporter Kurt Eichenwald has just completed an important investigation into the Trump Organization. Everyone in America should read this piece.

"A close examination by Newsweek of the Trump Organization...reveals an enterprise with deep ties to global financiers, foreign politicians, and even criminals..."

"If Trump moves into the White House and his family continues to receive any benefit from the company, during or even after his presidency, almost every foreign policy decision he makes will raise serious conflicts of interest and ethical quagmires..."

"None of Trump's overseas contractual business relationships examined by Newsweek were revealed in his campaign's financial filings with the Federal Election Commission, nor was the amount paid to him by his foreign partners."

Trump's surrogates have long complained that Clinton was "selling access" to the White House because she met with world leaders who had contributed to the Clinton Foundation while secretary of state. However, no one in the Clinton family receives any financial benefit from the Clinton Foundation, and no one received any favors. Trump and his children receive hundreds of millions of dollars each year from the Trump Organization. Would Trump make foreign policy decisions that served his own financial interests--or those of the United States?

Among other ties, this article explains Trump's financial ties to Russia.

One thing I like about Trump is his willingness to stop fraud. This govt is being taken to the cleaners, daily. Look at bids on govt projects for instance, automatically boosted. People taking, taking, and taking some more. Taking what they are not entitled to and getting away with it. We have people come in from other countries and start up companies just to get theirs. We cannot continue a open door to the world. You stop the fraud across the board, we would have soooo much money. Stop taking care of the world also, we can't take care of our own infrastructure.

This SOB has the nerve to insult true veterans on a regular basis, coming from a DRAFT DODGER this behavior is a true insult.

Why do you think these young Vets are killing themselves in record number? You wouldn't know, you avoided military service and had you been drafted I'm sure you would have had a pilonidal cyst on your ass sprouting feathers.

< View on YouTube >

First of all I'm pretty much a non drinker, second, I have no idea how that happened.

I still find it hilarious that you supported a draft dodger, like it or not, he avoided the service.

As far as avoiding military service? How did I do that? I was 13 when the draft ended. When at 18 I was required to register I did. Joining the military at that time, well, was for losers.

Go have another "Walter Mitty" moment.

AARP invited both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to separate FACE TO FACE interviews . They gave each candidate 13 questions to answer regarding important issues to members of AARP.

Clinton accepted the invitation for a FACE TO FACE interview and prepared responses to all 13 questions.

Trump, on the other hand, said he would only answer the 13 questions in writing and refused to do a FACE TO FACE interview. And then, get this folks, he only submitted answers to six of the 13 questions.

AARP has 37.8 million members, that's a large voting block to piss off, we have many rightwing members that Donald snubbed too..

Trump's proposals aren't new.  In fact, you might as well call them the Bush years.  Torture, wars, tax cuts for the rich:  the tax cuts ended up doing more harm than good to the economy and the budget (the budget was balanced before the "stimulus" of '01 and '03).  As for wars and torture, even the Pentagon had to acknowledge back then that it created more terrorists than we had on 9/11.  Bringing back the ideology of Dick Cheney and labeling it "Make America Great Again" is counter-intuitive.

But by all means, focus on Fox and AM radios latest make-believe scandal.  After all, a few years ago these same pundits and "news" sources were telling you the Christian-American in the White House was a Muslim from Kenya.  Oh, and he uses a teleprompter, you should think that this is a big deal as well.  :sarcasm:

However, the new evidence from Manuel Adelino of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Antoinette Schoar of the MIT Sloan School of Management and Felipe Severino of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth undermines this story. In their paper, "Changes in Buyer Composition and theExpansion of Credit During the Boom," the researchers found:

"While there was a rapid expansion in overall mortgage origination during this time period, the fraction of new mortgage dollars going to each income group was stable. In other words, the poor did not represent a higher fraction of the mortgage loans originated over the period. In addition, borrowers in the middle and top of the distribution are the ones that contributed most significantly to the increase in mortgages in default after 2007. Taken together, the evidence in the paper suggests that there was no decoupling of mortgage growth from income growth where unsustainable credit was flowing disproportionally to poor people."
Lots of previous evidence supports this conclusion. For example, the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission established by Congress concluded:

"...the CRA was not a significant factor in subprime lending or the crisis. Many subprime lenders were not subject to the CRA. Research indicates only 6% of high-cost loans -- a proxy for subprime loans -- had any connection to the law. Loans made by CRA-regulated lenders in the neighborhoods in which they were required to lend were half as likely to default as similar loans made in the same neighborhoods by independent mortgage originators not subject to the law."
Thus, in the battle over whether too much or too little regulation of the financial sector played a role in causing and exacerbating the crisis, the evidence points away from those who claim overzealous government

In my opinion, the biggest part of this whole thing, is the corruption and lies, and absolutely nobody held accountable. All the credit rating agencies gave all the lousy bundled trades their highest ratings. People all over the world were buying and trading with the banks. The banks knew full well that they were peddling junk. Whistle blowers were fired and ruined. Anyone responsible for what happened get into trouble? Credit rating agencies get slammed? Barely talked about.

I agree except where you call me a republican, I am not. Why would I want to be associated with a bunch of mealy mouthed democrat lapdogs? This is what theyv'e become, look at Ryan.

As far as dems go? All one has to do is look at their supposed leader, Chairman Cow. There is a distinct possibility the Clinton Foundation (money laundering organization) will be torn apart, assets seized and if a lot of prayers are answered, prison.

As far as women go, my first pick was Fiorina, much more honest that anyone the dems have put forward.

I don"t need your invitation for anything.

Yeah, 2008 was bad, the housing bubble (caused by sub prime lending practices introduced by dems a couple decades earlier) the near failure of the auto industry (caused by lazy, greedy union  pigs) that the gov took over and screwed millions of shareholders.

Yep, tough times for the entitled

Especially bankruptcy lawyers, they always do well when a Republican is governor or President.  After people like Donald Trump, Dave Ramsey, Mitt Romney and the other GOP bandwagon ran belly up the bankruptcy lawyers did better than anyone.

The rest of the businesses and middle class does better under Democrats.  Capitalism thrives most when the Gordon Gekkos of the world pay their bills.

Posted by Self-Banished on Nov. 08 2016,8:44 am
^^ yes, Dems file much fewer bankruptcys because they don't start as many businesses.  :dunce:

Successful businessmen thrive no matter who's in office, it just makes it harder to succeed with Dems in, far too many regulations and taxes.

Since the primaries I've been watching wayyyy  too much Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. I had almost forgotten how utterly full of crap those news orgs are. For the last week I've been wondering what they are going to talk about when the election is over, since they've barely mentioned anything else since March. Lucky for them it looks like Clinton will win the popular vote. Material for months more of distracting BS.
