Two pseudo right wing pandering preachers in a row Friday and Saturday at the wholesome Freeborn County Fair.

Apparently now days you need to bolster your brand with lots of appearances on TV political shows and whatnot.

And also remember to tell everyone how the media lies while you're appearing on said media.

Maybe both of them should take the advice of Frank Zappa  -

Shut n' play yer guitar

I don't know much about this guy. I also hear that you can't have a bottle or can in the grandstand and the vendors can't sell a bottle or can either. I guess they will be searching for them before you go in the grandstand also. That's what i hear don't know if it's true or not.

Maybe next year they can have David Duke?  You know, be totally tolerant of right-wingers that are intolerant.   :sarcasm:    :dunce:

Nope, saying we should be tolerant of intolerance is non-sense.  It's a silly concept, like saying Mexican immigrants should be tolerant of a man who says they're rapists and murderers, or the Japanese should be "tolerant" of people who want to send them to concentration camps.

Bigotry should be avoided and pointed out for what it is, not cheered and certainly not paid to come to a local stage.

He is just a redneck trying to sing songs made popular by great lead singers that were fired by Nugent for upstaging him..

Nugent was just the monkey that could pick a mean guitar.. Don't waste your money..

Video from last month:

Nugent dodged the draft to avoid service in Vietnam and bragged about it in several tabloids of the day. Had he dodged the draft and came out as member of the anti-war counterculture it wouldn't have bothered me SO much, but this guy is a war-hawk as long as someone else fights,(chickenhawk)..
The military gave him a 4-F Classification on a Psychiatric Disorder, a rating he still deserves today.

Here's the type that goes in for Nugent...

You and Ted have much more in common, you're both wannabes, maybe he'll take you back to the bus and show you his Mattie Mattle collection, you can put on your Cammies and play Rambo with each other..idgit

The whole point is stay home if you don't like what is going to be at the grandstand.  With all the media that has been going on about how bad this is, rumor has it that bus loads of people from the Twin Cities are going to be coming to the fair to see him.  The people that have been ranting and raving about how bad he is has probably made his gig to be the most amount of people that will have ever turned out for a grandstand performance; not to say the money that will be brought in at the gate.
If the people that do not care for Ted would have not said anything, most people wouldn't have been aware of his music or his beliefs until after the fact.

Yeah, I'm sure we haven't had so many like minded folks at the Fair Grounds since the last Ku Klux Klan rally.
It's obvious Woitas and the Fair Board are making a political statement similar to flying rebel flag at the 4th of July Parade!

To say no one would know about Ted Nugent just is plain stupid!

I see nothing wrong with the REBEL FLAG. I have four of them in my windows.A battle flag is a battle flag.

Do you often display the flags of our enemy, or only when it's associated with white supremacy?

Nevermind, I've known enough rednecks to know the answer already.

If you look real close, you might see Expat throwing his tidy whites up on stage.

That picture makes me think of the Sinclair Lewis quote:
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

One review I've heard so far was that the tempos dragged and the vocals were weak.

Is anti-drug like Elvis and Primce were anti-drug, I wonder?

He tries to hard to keep reminding you of patriotism and his ant-drug spiel.

When I was growing up we hunted. But it wasn't predicated on trying to belittle some other group who didn't hunt. And we didn't have to shout it from the rooftops - 'Hey Look at us we hunt!" To me that's just bizarre.

There were people that didn't hunt and it was no big deal. There is lots of different people in the world that have lots of different skill sets.  And that is good.

I think so anyway.

I commend the people that held the rally at the Denmark park. They were clearly outnumbered but they stood up for what they believed in. Good for them. That took courage.

I remember when Dale McMahon pulled a student DJ off of KALH for playing "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang." That was like 1980. Now I guess you can freely publish that song title in the FishWrap. Times change, man.

When these chickenhawks like Nugent wrap themselves in the flag and blow their patriotic spiel it's enough to make real Vets puke! Where was this coward when the Country called upon him to serve, the chickensh!t ran and hid, now that's some kind of rightwing hero,

Been saying it for years. AL fears protests more than anything else. The thin facade of a working harmonious community nearly crumbles with a few dozen people at a picnic.

It's just off the front-page..then again maybe this one is a little different from the original, as I remember he chastised the fair board and local racists.
