I remember being down at Tom's Taxidermy in Clarks Grove in the 90's and seeing a lion there. I think he said he was doing the job for somebody from Chicago maybe it was. At that time he was saying it was around $25-30,000 I think it was with all with the permits and flight to Zambia. Which was where that particular lion had been taken from. He might have been figuring in his fees for the total, too. I forget. hehI remember it looking sort of skinny and sickly.
Apparently this lion which has been turned into a lion skin rug of sorts. Cost $55,000.
According to the telegraph they get 18,500 trophy hunters in Africa every year.
So wow! What a revenue generator!
And when you shell out that kind of dough you're going to want to have your desires fulfilled.
I don't know anything about big game hunting in Africa. But hunting outside a game refuge at night to lure animals away from there doesn't seem very ethical.
It looks like in the daylight video you can sort of see the collar on the lion as well. And you would think the people involved would be acutely aware of these sorts of things.
But then again they said it was at night. heh

What about our socialized medicine program? Bambino is forcing companies to even provide services that are against First Amendment privileges based on religion. Nearly all services provided by PP are included in the ACA. < Planned Parenthood > isn't about women's health. It's about abortion. Planned Parenthood wasn't founded to protect women's health.

The sad part about this whole thing is if the Minneapolis dentist had shot an unknown annomous lion we wouldn't even know who he was. I'm not against hunting especially for food, but even tourist hunting done responsibly to control populations is exceptable. I believe this is another case of ass covering by a government. The Zimbawe government was supposed to be protecting the animals on their game reserve and the proffessional guides were able to poach a lion off the reseve and it made the Zimbawe government look bad(especially since most of the hunting fee paid by the dentist went to them). On another note the dentist had already gotten a lion before(that's where that picture of him on the news showed..that was not Cecil in that picture) did he really need another one?
