I see the old Ultimate Auto Building is now going to be Elite Pet and Garden. They are busy remodeling inside. Anyone heard of this store or is it a privately owned one.

MN SOS lists the agent of record as Thomas J. Theesfeld with an Albert Lea address.

I worked at the pet store in the middle of the Skyline Mall that was once a tobacco/cigar shop between Gallenkamp Shoes and Three Sisters.. I don't know how a pet store can compete with the low prices at Walmart and Shopko.. Wishing them the best..

My first suggestion would be to not carry low quality crap. Seems to work quite well for Michelle at Ranch and Pet Supply. I'd be more worried about competing with her than with Walmart.

Asked Petco if they Price Match and after reading a whole page of chat, they don't unless their is a local Petco.. Walmart offers free to store and free shipping to your house on most items if you spend $50.. Maybe the Garden part will also have more to offer..?
Just giving Elite Pet and Garden a little heads up.. Albert Lea has very fussy and cheap people..

I'd love to see a pet store that carried reef supplies in town. I hate having to drive to the cities or Rochester just to get reef/fish food.

We drove by there Monday. All we saw was two Ultimate Automotive signs still up. If you looked at the lighted sign it said now open. Wouldn't you have thought they would have put a banner over the Ultimate sign, took it down, painted over it or something? To the general passerby it looked like Ultimate was open again. Not a good way to start your new business.

I must have missed it. What happened to Ultimate Automotive? I thought he was building a fairly decent business.

That's come up in the past, and there is no record of a current bankruptcy for Dan, or the business. There is a past filing from about 12 years ago, but nothing remotely recent.
