The improving jobs picture has healed some of the deep scars left by the Bush Great Recession.

US Gains 252,000 Jobs; Unemployment Rate Falls to 5.6 Pct.

Jeezus you're a tool
Let's look at some of the numbers that really < http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000 >

You'll notice that labor partisipation rate has fallen steadily since Buster took office.
As far as the increasing jobs number it's a natural influx, and it's WAY overdue.

Posted by Liberal on Jan. 09 2015,10:12 am
So if it's natural influx, does that mean it's best natural influx in 15 years?

It seems every decade we try tax cuts to the rich and see the economy get worse and deficits increase, then a Dem gets in the oval office, raises taxes on the rich, deficits decrease and the economy finally improves.   :D

^Don't take the above jab at Republicans too seriously, though.  I think the economy is more than just who's in the White House, but the point is that the top tax brackets (voodoo economics) and the fear predictions from the right were completely wrong, again.

Posted by Self-Banished on Jan. 09 2015,12:29 pm
Wages have also been declining

15 years???

More like 6 and that's with cooked numbers. :D

Mitch McConnell is already taking the praise for the gains of everything. You know,  since the Repubs are now running things.

^The only thing the Republicans run is US into the ground!

^^^ Between the dems AND the repubs they've been running the country into the ground.

Never ever put a community organizer in charge of business. :p  :dunce:

Amy effing Klobuchar?

That has to be acknowledged as quite a setback for the libbies.

What do you call someone that believes the current democrat administration would cook numbers, but would never consider accusing the previous republican administration of doing the same?
Posted by Self-Banished on Jan. 10 2015,6:33 pm
I'm not letting them off the hook either, I go by what I see every day and my numbers and the past 4 years have been declining. I've come to the realization that the only interest either party has is their own.

Ron Paul makes some compelling arguments in this article and thought I would share it here for debate.

QUOTE
We must get people to reject flawed economic policy if we want a real war on poverty. LBJ’s war on poverty was no more successful than his Vietnam War — or any war since, for that matter. A national government that can print money as needed to finance extraordinary extravagance can function longer than a city, state, or private entity, but it too must eventually “file for bankruptcy” albeit in a different fashion. As we are now seeing, the bankruptcy of a nation also involves poverty for many. This situation will continue to worsen. Since poverty is a major contributing factor to the violence of excessive police militarization, some fundamentals must be understood. The economic theories of Paul Samuelson, Paul Krugman, John Maynard Keynes, and all those who claim to know how to “regulate” the economy to benefit the poor, must be challenged and abandoned.

Can you also tell us which people they no longer include in the unemployment figures?  I think the audience would like to know.

Here's something that many Americans -- including some of the smartest and most educated among us -- don't know: The official unemployment rate, as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, is extremely misleading.

Right now, we're hearing much celebrating from the media, the White House and Wall Street about how unemployment is "down" to 5.6%. The cheerleading for this number is deafening. The media loves a comeback story, the White House wants to score political points and Wall Street would like you to stay in the market.

I may be naive and possibly wrong in my opinion but what the heck.  If I'm wrong and your right nobody get's hurt right?  All is well in the universe.  However, if you're wrong and you help by misleading everyone...well that's a whole different story now isn't it.

Now when Buster took office the LPR is 66.2 and in Jan. '15 it has steadily fallen to 62.9, a rate that might make him consider peanut farming, rather embarrassing.

The private sector has added 12.0 million jobs over 60 straight months of job growth, extending the longest streak on record.
