How much is gas where you're at?

I paid $1.76 at the Costco in Maple grove this morning

< Time’s Global Warmist Said Science Proved $2 Gas was Impossible, Michele Bachmann Proved Him Wrong >

Global Warmists use “science” the way that their ancestors used magic. Case in point, Bryan Walsh, Time’s current Foreign Editor, who was writing about the environment and the election in 2011.

Walsh claimed that the only way to lower gas prices would be to go into a (deeper?) recession and that increasing supply wouldn’t work. Instead he insisted that the only way to do it would be with more Priuses.

Like all Warmunists, Walsh was wrong. Shale and the Saudi energy dumping resulting from it (despite his predictions that OPEC would reduce production, it increased production) gas is coming down.

And Bachmann took to Twitter to celebrate.

Lefty sites are predictably mocking her while claiming that Obama deserves the credit, but Obama fought new energy all the way. The difference wasn’t made by energy efficient cars, but by increasing supply.

The progressives were wrong and they knew they were wrong.

The right wing liar has a few mistakes in what Walsh actually said.

QUOTE

Look, there are good economic arguments for increasing oil exploration at the U.S. that have nothing to do with gas prices. Every barrel of oil we can produce at home rather than importing reduces our trade deficit and supports valuable domestic jobs. (You may hate them, but the oil and gas industry provides some of the best-paying jobs in the country for those without a college degree.) But the oil market is a global one, and it will be rising demand from developing countries like China and India that will really change prices. The U.S. President, as the Atlantic‘s Alexis Madrigal writes, can’t control that. The only way we can try to reduce the price of gas effectively — or at least, shield Americans from the economic burden of high prices — is through more fuel-efficient cars, which would reduce demand. But Bachmann has opposed raising fuel-efficiency standards — and for that matter, energy-efficient lightbulbs. There’s nothing in her record or her statements to indicate that she would support the kind of policies that help break America’s dependency on expensive energy.

You just seem to have a problem with everyone being less intelligent than you?

I post a little satire from an article that could have just as easily been from the Onion and all of a sudden everyone's a right wing liar.

I guess if my post was to stir some ire from the lefties that are still desperately clinging to Bambino as being a savior...

It worked!  :D

Wait, do you even know what satire means?

Satire- the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule

Didn't you find that article from frontpagemag.com humorous?   Some warm monger claiming the only way to lower gas prices was a deep recession and that increasing supplies couldn't lower prices?

No, the biggest humor from that is your very own Michele standing next to that gas price sign.  :D

Yeah, and you know what followed, the last time this happened - a drastic market correction on Wall Street.

I'm not saying the two are directly related, but these things tend to run in cycles.

The politicos all want to take credit for low oil prices, but nobody asks why they couldn't have done this to give the poor, middle class, and small business owners a break on the outrageous gas prices before now.
Posted by Self-Banished on Jan. 10 2015,6:35 pm
So when does the other shoe drop.
Posted by Liberal on Jan. 10 2015,7:23 pm
When Putin/Russia is let back in the club oil has to go back up to keep him in power.

Or maybe they didn't set limits because of American production increases. Maybe they wanted the price decrease to get the oil that is more expensive to extract and refine out of the market. I like this theory the most because they'd have to keep the market flooded for quite awhile for it to work.

Posted by grassman on Jan. 11 2015,6:50 am
See how people are conditioned. The price is where it always should have been, actually it is still a little high. I read that it may go all the way down to $20 a barrel.
Posted by Self-Banished on Jan. 11 2015,7:46 am
^^Yea there is a possibility of even lower oil prices, even from what I'm hearing into the 30's. 20's? Doubtful. But even in the 30's countries like Russia and Venezuela will have a meltdown, even more so now for Venezuela, they're in economic collapse.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Putin is one dangerous animal, I don't see him sitting back much longer. Enjoy the prices while you can. :(

Posted by Liberal on Jan. 27 2015,5:06 pm
Rail is cheaper to build and maintain than roads. If you include the cost of building the rail then you would also have to figure in the cost of building roads.
Posted by Self-Banished on Jan. 27 2015,6:06 pm
Our roads already exist,
Mega mal to Mps-not quite a billion
St.Paul to Mpls- 1 billion

The proposed routes of Eden Praire to Mpls and Cottage Grove to St.Paul are looking to be about 3billion tota, more when it extends to Rochester.

I'm not sure what the North Star cost but it's probably a good bet that the BN gets a good size chunk for use of their trackage.

One could probably put this all together to fix every road in
Minn.

I haven't heard anything of running tracks to po'dunk land.

Yes, I know what you mean but you did say the road fairy (from what I've heard Alky's the road fairy) I guess what gets me is that very few will benefit from these billions being spent on light rail. The maintenance, the land acquisition, the construction, etc services only those living in a small sector when our roads and bridges need repairs or replacing.

Up here the bus service still runs lines along side the exsisting rail lines, why? The trains are nothing more than image, keeping up with the Jones, being stylish.

Blue states tend to do better economically than red states.  If you had your "potential" wish come true in California we never would have heard of Silicon Valley.

Right to work states a not anti Union, a worker simply has the right(like that word?) to accept or decline Union membership, as it should be. Now wether or not that union survives is up to them.
