Just talked with the gals at Ole's Shell on East Main and Prospect.  Caseys will be taking over very soon.
Great Pizza!

Doesn't come anywhere close to Jake's or Steve's.

I agree about Jakes; however, it is nice to have a change once in awhile.  And knowing that the pizza tastes good is an added bonus.

Hopefully they'll keep selling the non-oxygenated gas there.  It's about the only place around that I can find it.

So are you saying that non-oxygenated gas isn't farmer welfare?

^^^ I've noticed that character on TV back when my kids where young but for the life of me I can't put a name on it. Knowing you it's probably funny as hell.

I remember when they first opened there. They had little TV type monitors on the pumps. It was easy to over pump if you got caught up watching Sheriff Andy reruns.

I had forgotten about those. Didn't Nelson's Shell have that too?

What they should have done with those is change the content depending on what type of gas you were buying. 87 Octane would get you a local network channel. Mid-grade, you get something on cable, and premium, you get HBO.

Yeah great idea!

I just remembered them at Ole's. They could have had them at Shell too, I suppose, yeah.

If you are talking about the red pumps, they also have no ethanol in those as well...and Front Street Kwik Trip as them as well.

Casey's in Northwood broke the two dollar mark.  $1.97 for midgrade.  Zip code is 50459.

:dunno: I imagine your referring  to ethanol subsidies? You do realize what year it is don't you?  Try a little homework. But, since your so concerned about welfare, big oil payments and fuel surcharge handouts are still going strong! Funny how you have no problem with that?

Wether it's a surcharge or the industry changes it's prices daily(I prefer a surcharge that gets adjusted every week, must easier) your farmer welfare is just what it is, welfare. Politicians and their little puppet part time farmers thought this up to jack the corn price.

Research? It's pretty obvious, "moonshine" costs more to burn in a vehicle, it's lighter which means it has less btu's. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the price difference was only about 25 cents, at that differential it takes a lot more money to drive considering one gets about 27% less mileage.

I remember our little disagreement about clerks letting you fill up with nonox. Mills fleet farm will shut down the pump up here, Kwik Trip doesn't say a thing so you can imagine were I buy my gas.

Yes, Caseys have the non oxygenated gas.
Posted by irisheyes on Dec. 24 2014,1:21 am
I only use the non-oxy in small engines, particularly something like an old snowblower or lawn mower.

I've always liked Casey's General Store, their quality control seems to be top notch.  And they're one of the rare gas stations that makes a decent cup of coffee or food, along with Kwik Trip.  Most of these smaller stations will have you spitting out whatever they've had sitting on a warmer all day.

It's too bad that they will not continue the bus service. :( I think the motel across main should pick it up. That would be instant income.
