(CNSNews.com) – At a time of escalated tensions with the West over Ukraine, Russia says it is negotiating with eight governments around the world for access to military facilities, to enable it to extend its long-range naval and strategic bomber capabilities.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Wednesday the military was engaged in talks with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Algeria, Cyprus, the Seychelles, Vietnam and Singapore.

The Donk's favorite piñata, Sarah Palin predicted this in 2008.  :;):

QUOTE
(CNN) - Sarah Palin may be having a bragging rights moment.

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

The former Alaska governor was happy to highlight her prediction on Friday and scold those who criticized her 2008 comments.

You just don't in the 21st century behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on completely trumped-up pretext. - John Kerry

I don't know what's more insulting - the hypocrisy, or the notion that the American people have forgotten about Iraq. If that wasn't an invasion based on a trumped-up pretext, I don't know what is.

This will end badly for the U.S. if the hubris on our part continues, Mark my words.

The whole problem with today versus the past? We have helped to evolve the world into a more advanced world. When you no longer have the technical advantage, the playing field is even. We have pissed off enough countries to the point, if they banded together, we would be in trouble. The wealthy have no loyalties anymore, they will side with whom ever is winning.
Posted by Botto 82 on Mar. 03 2014,8:53 am
I understand there's already a Sino-Russian plan in place to dump the petrodollar. If that happens, economic collapse won't limp in catching up.

Kerry should just shut it, and do what he does best - kissing Israel's can.

Countries binding together?
Maybe not such a good time to gut our military?
I know we're not at war(or are we?) but just maybe now is not the greatest time to cut our numbers.

These were are all Soviet Socialist Republics they are more or less like states of the Soviet Union just because they call themselves Russia now doesn't mean these folks
are really letting these states slide away.

To get involved here militarily or any kind of sanctions is fools play, this is a Russian internal matter equivalent to Texas seceding from the union.

It’s time to mind our own business, we couldn’t even take on a bunch of ragheads and win and Russia can field a real army in there own back yard!

Posted by MADDOG on Mar. 03 2014,10:24 am
Bambino is in way over his head.  Top that off with an incompetent SOS.  At least with Hillary out of the picture, we won't hear "What difference does it make?  It's only one country."  Of course we wouldn't be able to decipher whether she would have meant Syria or Ukraine.

Kerry looked like a fool the last time he went on Sunday with Chris Wallace during the Syria crisis intervention.  This time with Ukraine, the WH sent him every place but to do an interview with Wallace.

Our screw up with the military wasn't the Bambino family announcing budget cuts to the military last week.  Bambino's screw up was when he pulled out the missile defense systems from Poland and the Czech Republic.

Between Bambino's apology tour, cuts to the EU defense, his ineffectiveness with North Korea and the changes in political structure in Iraq, he's proven to the world that he's an idiot in foreign policies.  He's proven he's incapable.

America's allies are no longer standing behind us.  They can smell Bambino's fear just like Putin.  He's no Eisenhower or Kennedy.

Posted by Expatriate on Mar. 03 2014,12:36 pm
So Maddog would you go John Wayne McCain and take military action? I don’t have time to listen to Limbaugh or Beck what’s the rightwing strategy on this situation? What would you do if you were prez?
Posted by MADDOG on Mar. 03 2014,3:35 pm
Of course not, but how did we get into this situation anyway?  How much farther will it go?  This seems to have the makings of more than the Georgia War.  What's going to be next, Moldova?  Will he show up in Minsk or the Baltics?

Bambino has developed quite a reputation for being weak.  What transpired during his phone call yesterday with Putin?

If it were me, I'd be putting those missile defense batteries back in.  Of course they should have never put down.  Do not make any reductions to the military.  I'd get financial aid to Ukraine quickly with the support of the EU.  Layers of sanctions need to be imposed and the Sochi G8 summit would be postponed until the G7 decides where to have this meeting to discuss Russia.

Putin knows Bambino will scurry like a rat if confronted.

Bambino let the lion out of the cage a few months ago.  Hr opened the cage door way back during his apology tour and when the beast didn't come out, he lured Putin out with a red line in the sand in Syria.

He has few options on what he can do because of pure foreign policy weakness on his part.

QUOTE
< An Epic Fail >

By Stephen Blank
on February 11 2014

College students call something that has gone completely wrong an “epic fail.” Today, the foreign policy of U.S. President Barack Obama fully merits this label. In the last few months, it has become exceedingly clear not only that the administration has no idea how to relate the use of force to diplomacy but also that it is safer to be America’s adversary (or even its enemy) than to be its ally.

The fiasco in Syria – in which Obama drew "red lines" against President Bashar Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons, only to erase them in the absence of both an acceptable political goal and popular support – is well known. The administration’s vacillation opened the door for Russia, which bailed out the White House with a diplomatic deal that the administration was only too eager to seize.

Since then, Moscow has concluded major energy and/or arms deals with Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel, while steadily flooding Syria with arms. Syria’s pledge to disarm, meanwhile, remains unmet; at last tally, the Assad regime had shipped out less than 5 percent of its chemical weapons, ensuring its lengthy tenure in office.

QUOTE
In Europe, the Obama administration has concealed from Congress and our NATO allies Russian violations of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty for months if not years, briefing NATO allies on the breaches only a few weeks ago. As it turns out, Secretary of State John Kerry never even raised this issue with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov or lodged a formal protest about Moscow’s violations of one of the enduring cornerstones of international stability.

QUOTE
In East Asia, China’s unilateral declaration of an unlawful Air Defense Identification Zone over its own, Japan’s, South Korea’s and Taiwan’s airspace evoked only muted protest from the White House, which told civilian airliners to avoid provoking China by providing warning as they approached. Similar Chinese efforts to unilaterally impose its will on Southeast Asian states and territories have encountered a similarly feeble (and therefore provocative) response.

QUOTE
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the administration has done nothing meaningful to support anti-regime protestors, while Moscow has brought enormous pressure to bear on the country in support of its pro-Kremlin president, Viktor Yanukovych.

QUOTE
This passivity and unwillingness to criticize Moscow is mirrored by the utter absence of interest in what is happening in the Caucasus or Central Asia, where the administration’s vaunted “Silk Road” policy has become a bad joke. Neither Obama nor any other cabinet official has expressed any interest in the “post-Soviet space,” even though Secretary Kerry, as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, authored a major report on the Silk Road in 2011.

Under the circumstances, it should come as no surprise that a sense of U.S. retreat and abandonment has proliferated abroad, and that American allies are busy making deals with Moscow and Beijing. If our officials had any sense of history or reality, they would know that such strategic incompetence only invites further advances from our adversaries. “Epic fail” indeed.

Well that explains a lot.  The < IBEW is one of those whiney unions > that ran into Bambino's arm and grabbed onto his apron strings.

My health care changed a couple of years ago to align with his majesty's social agenda.  My co-pay went up as did my deductible and of course the premiums.  I have to help pay for the daughter of one of the guys in back who chose to drop out of school during 10th grade, learn how to party and have illegitimate kids with fathers who have about the same sense of responsibility as her.  After four years, she learned well.

Substandard according to who? The Obummer administration's and the HHS Czar's definition of substandard?  pfft.

They are labeling these policies substandard to make them sound inferior when the fact of the matter is a male doesn't need a policy that covers prenatal health costs for example.

Sheesh...the BS alarm always seems to go off when you post.

It seems that scab Auto Dealer saw his opportunity to pass the cost of health insurance on to his employees, like I said I still have the same insurance I’ve always had still free, deductible and copay remained the same.

What IBEW Pres. Hill is working on is for construction electricians that don’t carry IBEW insurance or employer insurance year-round, these folks may work for several employers in different States sometimes the employer provides insurance sometimes the IBEW dose, it’s created some kind of conflict with ACA they'll work it out, don’t know the details as it doesn't affect folks like me.

Actually I watch MSNBC, usually in the morning.

Bush was 5 years ago, the economy wasn't rolling too good but for most of his time in office, at least for me, it was good. Freight numbers were up, exports were up, interest rates where decent and taxes were tolerable.

Economies cycle, plain and simple and near the end of Bush's second term there was a downward trend, the housing bubble popped because of poor lending practices set up before Bush was even in office, the auto makers, because of union contracts and corperate greed just about had to file bankruptcy AND THE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALOWED TO, they never should have been bailed out, shareholders shafted and ownership handed over to the unions. After bankruptcy they probably would have been stronger than ever

Bush wasn't that good a president, be he did OK and I know I'll have Alky screaming BUSH LIED, PEOPLE DIED, like a freakin' moron. But now we have bammer, never ran a business in his life, never had a private sector job, questionable credentials and a penchant for using the gov. as a tool to tear down anybody that opposes him. A failed economy, unemployment at astronomical numbers with talk of amnesty adding even more to those numbers.

How about that IRS scandal bammer told O'Reilly that there was absolutely nothing wrong but Lerner keeps pleading the 5th, if there's nothing to hide why not testify?

Pay attension to what's going on now, our financial structure is a house of cards.
Scandals galore,
And a president that's taking it in the arse from Putin.

America's dying.

Well if Bambino has forced higher premiums, employers have but two choices.  Mine is absorbing part and passing on the rest to us.  Deductibles have also increased due directly to Bummer.  Another words, someone has to pay for the bums who don't have insurance.

You keep referring to my store as scab auto dealer.  What for?  Because Iowa dealers are nonunion shops?  If so, you need to rethink the slang definition of a scab.

Oh yeah, the stock market :O

Let me tell you the old Norwegian parable of the farmer, the pig and the garden hose.

Farmer Lars(a Dane) was a pig farmer(no, not union workers, swine that walk on 4 legs) He had a prized pig that he was taking to the fair and he wanted it to grow bigger. He would feed the pig every day but the pig was going through a period of slow growth but farmer Lars would have none of it, he went to the shed and got his trusty garden hose, hooked one end up to the spigot and the other he shoved in the pig's arse. He turned on the spigot and the pig started to grow bigger. As the pig grew, his eyes bulged and his tail straightened till finally he fell over and exploded.

Moral of the story, leave things alone, don't stick a hose up a pig's arse to stimulate growth and our economy under Obama will eventually explode.

All hijackers had Arab origins, and none were Afghan or Iraqis the whole basis for the Bush incursion into Afghanistan was Bin laden
On the day of 9/11, the Taliban foreign minister told the Arab television network Al Jazeera: "We denounce this terrorist attack, whoever is behind it."
The Taliban offered to extradite Osama bin Laden to an Islamic country, for trial under Islamic law, if the United States presented evidence of his guilt.

Things weren’t moving fast enough for Bush and his henchmen so it cost US 6,717 fine young men dead another 50,897 wounded that number is still climbing!

It’s also estimated the Bush wars will cost US more than $6 TRILLION DOLLARS & rising all because the GOP whooped up the warmongers with what proved
to be falsified information in Iraq’s case and a push to war profiteering in Afghanistan. what a total waste of our Military & Treasury !

Feeble seems to be the path that the administration has proven to take.  It's far too weaktitted to be called isolationism.

Now we have proof that some of the < missile firings >are coming from within Russia into Ukraine.

Of course Putin only had to wait a short time to start his reintegration of the Soviet States.

And without the U.S. taking the lead, NATO has crawled under a rock.  Why was NATO formed?  To protect the European states from Russia and its satellite-allies.  It wasn't that many months ago that NATO was moving towards increasing cooperation with Ukraine.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government is directly supplying weapons to Peshmerga fighters from Iraq's semiautonomous Kurdish region to help them fight Sunni militants, in a deepening of America's military involvement in Iraq, U.S. officials said on Monday.

The Kurdish fighters are struggling to stem advances by militants from the Islamic State, an al Qaeda offshoot.

The officials said the weapons were supplied by the Central Intelligence Agency but that the Pentagon may soon start arming the Kurdish fighters, who regained control of two strategic towns in northern Iraq on Sunday with help from U.S. airstrikes.

ya know, believe it or not, putin use to travel the russian countryside throwing raves where he'd sell ecstasy and made a pretty penny doing so.. also, many believe he's cozy with israeli brokers and afghani poppy growers and has done more to traffic heroin into this country than any man who's ever lived.. in regards to the topic, i think you're right but never leave the israelis out when considering putin.. why do you think there's so much heroin in this country.. as for fighting ukraine, he's been a bully and russia has some pretty rad ballistic missiles.. scary.. i wonder if all those billionaires living in crimea who sided with putin right away, are jewish.. don't tell me jews are really at the heart of the issue

During our what is it eleven year occupation of Afghanistan, why hasn’t poppy production been eradicated.

Page 21. Huge increase in poppy cultivation after the US invaded Afghanistan. The graph on the next page shows that most of the world's heroin comes from Afghanistan.

In 2001 the Taliban destroyed almost the entire opium crop in Afghanistan, believing that opium is a disgrace to Islam. A couple years after we invade, the news is saying that heroin is how the taliban gets most of their money, and our soldiers are guarding poppy fields and helping farmers so the farmers don't join the taliban? Maybe the taliban changed their mind in regards to heroin? Wachovia and HSBC been in the news alot the last couple of years for laundering drug money, but I'm sure the banks only launder Mexico and South American money. I'm sure none of them launder money from the middle east.

And don't forget about Iran-Contra

Why is it surprising that people might not believe some of our government agencies and not trust what some of them do?

How about the garbage coming out of Washington about Russia and Crimea? What country is the US going to try and start a war with if war with Russia turns out the same way Syria did?

Either are bad choices, but a third option would be to get out of the war there entirely.  I'd favor the idea that we stop nation building and let the people of Iraq and Afghanistan handle their own sovereignty from now on.

Oh, and now would be an ideal time for us to stop giving weapons to Israel.

Posted by Common Citizen on Aug. 19 2014,9:15 pm
The option that should have been excuted is occupation like we did in Germany after WWII and stay there until the generations of haters die out.  If that means forever then so be it.  Oh and use the oil to pay for building US military installations across the country as well as rebuilding the infrastructure there.

Just my humble opinion.

I sure hope the God of the right-wingers never listens to their prayers or we could all end up with a leader like Putin and a country like Russia..

Obama is the closest thing our country has had to a fascist dictator in my lifetime so I'm not sure why right-wingers get your panties in a bunch.  I've never seen a leader use a tool like the IRS and the media to the extent Obama has against his political adversaries.
It was your party that fought desegregation and wanted to maintain control over the freedom of minorities.
But if I could define Obama's political ideology it would be more of a socialist statist, imo.

< The Daily Show:  Conservatives Man-Crush on Vladmir Putin >

Jon Stewart covered the man crush that conservative media had over Putin pretty well.  Numerous pundits were shown admiring Putin: Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Rudolph Guiliana to name a few.

A few months later they were backtracking, but the truth is they loved how much of a "leader" Putin was, while they claimed Obama was both a mom-jeans wearing weakling AND he was a tyrannical dictator/emperor/king.   :p

With a partisipation rate not seen since the Carter era (62.7%) that'll be a good one to put into the Buster legacy book.

I forgot to mention that Obama has never put combat troops on the ground of any conflict that he started.. Obama uses smart targeting and technology..

High gas prices start in the spring, early summer for increase in summer demand, not the fall..

The middle east sat around thinking the US would take care of their business until Obama said "step it boys" because the US will no longer fight your battles.. History has never seen so many middle east countries join together in a fight against a common cause, ISIS..

I think a lot of Americans admire him because like him or not, all agendas aside, he is a leader. Something this country desperately needs these days. Reagan worked with Dems, Clinton worked with Repubs, Bush worked with Dems. Now I'm not too fond of either of these "cults" but it seems when they cooperate a little, business runs a little smoother.

This narassistic idiot we have now couldn't lead his way out of a paper bag and we're paying for it.

By the way Alky, how's your cat?

I think you better do a little more remembering there. The first words out of the Republican mouths when Obama won was We will vote no on anything he wants, or something to that effect. So, who was railroading whom? ???
As far as admiring Putin? Pffft! He is a KGB bully! He is NOT a leader.

Enlighten me, which seal would this be?

Republicans, don't get me started.

What I'm trying to explain to you and blunder boy is that Americans admire Putin because he is a leader., methods and results aside.

What I am trying to instill in you is that I very much doubt  many Americans admire Putin. He is a KGB BULLY! The world is changing, the old ways are no longer accepted. You know, where the playground bully is finally surrounded by fifty kids. You know the ending. With todays technology so widely shared and as we are now finding out, sleeper groups. It is better to try and get along than overtake. The world is your playground, what are you going to do with it?
Being a playground bully just doesn't cut it anymore.

Launching a drone strike is a bit premeditated, wouldn't you think?

What are we paying for under the leadership of President Obama?

Lowest gas prices since the Bush crash? Best recorded employment increase since President Clinton? Record high stock market? World respect not seen since President Clinton? Freedom by more Americans? A lower crime rate? Health Insurance for more Americans than ever? Lowest Health Care cost increase in 50 years? The collapse of Iran and Russia?

Please tell me what we are paying for under Obama.. What am I missing?

Why don't you explain to all of us just what Bambino did to lower gas prices.  Did he expand drilling on public or federal land?  Convince OPEC to flood to market with crude?  Make it easier to drill on private land or maybe just help in moving domestic oil to market quicker and easier?

World respect?    Prominent role in the stock market?

How about reducing health care costs without reducing health care.  :deadhorse:

The collapse of Iran and Russia?     Don't freeking kid yourself.  I'm surprised you didn't mention how his foreign policies have reshaped the Middle East and used Yemen as a shining example.  :sarcasm:

Ever heard of tunnel warfare? They would dig a tunnel under the enemy position, set a major bomb in place and then blow up the enemy..

Totally premeditated.. Just like a drone..

Yes, it most certainly is premeditated, this is apples and oranges, it's still murder of a U.S. citizen. :dunce:

Uh, I think he did.

Last time I checked, Obama was waging a war on fossil fuels.  He's done just about everything in his power to keep costs high and even stated he want3ed $5.00 gas.  I suppose some of you don't remember him saying that we can't drill our way to lower prices.

I'm pretty sure I did keep up though it's not too difficult with you. I responded with drones and your tunnel warfare being the same thing and it was still murder of a U.S. citizen.

The lady of the house kept up with me.. Then you took over and screwed up the fun interaction I was having with your lady..

Lets make a pact, I won't attack you if you don't attack me..

I would prefer to discuss why you people have your noses stuck up Putin's ass.. It seems so unpatriotic..

I know, you think patriotism means a loss of freedom of speech with the ministry..

I only bitched about Bush and Cheney for 8 years while they were in office.. I would have never preferred another world leader to be my commander and chief.. Bush was my President, good, bad and the ugly.. My fellow Americans voted him into office, twice..

And again I'll come back with Buster murdering US citizens with drones, how convenient the must be. Buster doesn't want to dirty his hands and follow due process so he just calls up a drone strike and "poof", problem gone.

It goes along with the rest of his demeanor, political enemy? We'll just audit them, want to make some points with public opinion? Ferguson happens and he just sends his AG there to throw the cop under the bus.

In the same post you accuse me of having a another person post for me then you want a pact??? :dunce:
Here, suck my dick.

First off I resent anyone saying that Americans(and especially Republicans) admire Putin's leadership ability.
He is a two bit Stalin wanna-be, ex-KGB, scum bag.
But I suppose their are some people out there that do, after all we have people that think Hitler is a great guy also.

Secondly, while I don't agree with everything our current President does,  If the "American" citizen that he droned struck is that admited Al Quaida leader that wanted to launch more terrorist attacks against the country he was born in, I'm sorry but that ass forfeited his citizenship when he declared war on America especially from  a foriegn country!!

The kooks at the start of this topic were all cheering for Putin, and it certainly wasn't the forum liberals praising him, it was the conservatives/closet republitards that were praising him.
