With the 2004 elections a little over a year and 2 months away I think the time is now to start looking for people to run for  the 2 county commissioners seats. We can change the balance of power if we can elect 2 people that care what the people in their districts think.  So start talking to people, start encuraging them to run and next summer Help them with their campain. This is America and we still have free elections. So lets work together to get the broom out and swept those 2 yahoos out of office!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maxx--which two Commissioners are up for election?  We need to publish a map of Commissioner Districts--they are so "Gerrymandered" that most people don't even know who their County Commissioner IS!

This will be interesting--every one of the incumbents will have to defend Gabrielson, and the actions of the County Board since he arrived.  My guess that several of them will see the need to "retire"!

I thought there were three of them up for reelection in 2004. I know of Behrends and Springborg, but I thought there was one more, maybe Mathiason? I may be wrong about that one, pretty sure about the other two I mentioned.

We also need to have some people interested in running that would be willing to drop out if need be for the good of the people. Kind of like the republicans in California right now, there is so many of them, they are taking votes from each other, the dems with pretty much just the Lt. governor running has a real shot. In other words, If I was going to run, and Jim said he was also, I would drop out, Jim and I have pretty much the same views, plus he is a little more diplamatic than me. See what I mean? We cant have a flood of candidates or the sitting board members will have a real shot at winning again. Just my opinion. What do you guys think?

Behrends and Springborg are the two that I know of for sure Let me do some research and see if there is another and I will get back to you. But these are two high profile Commissioners that got to go.

I check with the Freeborn county web site and as it look to me as maybe Mathiason is also up for re-election since board members serve 4 year terms and two were re-elected at the last election I will stand corrected and say that yes there is a good liklelyhood that three seats are up for election. If anyone on this form lives in the Alden area could you give a little insite on Mr. Mathiason seat.

That sounds right Maddmax, I thought Mullenbach and Belshan were the only ones not up for reelection. I remember thinking how sweet it would be to 4 on one again, this time with some good guys in the majority, lets see how Mullenbach likes a little of his own medicine.

Ok, here it is, I got this info from the courthouse. Behrends, Springborg, and Mathiason are all up for reelection in 2004. Lets show all three how out of touch with the people they are and send em home with their tail between their legs.

Wow! All three... that conspired together against the people.

These 3 must be toast! Too bad the damage is done...but I'll take what I can get!
