Four things to watch from this report that the city, county and SOH paid upwards of $75,000 to have produced:(1) It'll cost more than $50 million if the Eminent Domain the hospital or try to build their own hospital. (2) No other competing hospital group would consider building a hospital in Albert Lea. (3) Your best option is to work with Mayo. Now here will come Number 4: Someone who complains about how they lost money because the hospital stopped doing business with them will soon land a contract with the hospital. A cushy marketing job will become available to someone to help Mayo "improve" its image. And everything will then be right with Albert Lea. SOH was not about fighting for Albert Lea, it was to embarrass Mayo for self-serving interests. |
