First thing I hear on the local news this morning is that Target has dropped health ins for part time workers. Targets health ins. packages are very inexpensive, easily affordable on even part time pay. The company stated that insurance would terminate on April 1.

Just another casualty of Obamacare :(

Is it, or is a way to please the share holders?

Target's a pretty good corperate citizen giving 5% of it's profits daily to charity. That being said satisfying their shareholders is just part of doing business. Also with the recent security breech they've been spending money to shore that up.

I wonder what the sticker shock will be when these part time people have to go to obamacare!

I'm guessing that the drive to cut costs is more driven by losses implied by the data breach, and less about Obamacare. I'm not defending Obamacare, but it's become an all-too-convenient political football lately.

Very true, but Obamacare is a fact of life now, wether we like it or not.

So when do you think you right wing loons will quit whining about it?

I maybe speculating but I would imagine it has more to do with being in compliance with the (un)Affordable Care Act than it has to do with share holders.

The law known as Obamacare doesn’t require most companies to cover part-time workers, and offering them health plans may disqualify those people from subsidies in new government-run insurance exchanges that opened in October.

Dayton-Target Corporation not taking care of their employees equally?  I would have thought that their democratic thinking company would believe that it's every employee right to have company insurance?

Wait a minute.  I'll bet that many of them will get subsidies.  Now that's liberal thinking.  Don't give them the option.  Private employers making them chose a gub'mint plan.

But then, isn't that what the conservatives said would happen next?

Well, it looks like a bunch of them got pink slips as well. Damn that Obama care. :sarcasm:

Well some experts would peg total unemployment at 37%.  92 million Americans are not working.  9 million fewer jobs in the labor force than there was in 2008, yet the administration and the liberal state run media would like to pull the wool over our eyes and tell us that the unemployment rate is at 6.7%.  They should be required to include a disclaimer when they spew that number to the public.

Obama = Disaster to middle america

Did I mention the $295,000 Both Obama and Biden spent on a one weekend vacation?

cost the Secret Service $98,135.79, including $32,406.50 for the flights, $16,466.25 for rental cars, and $48,490 for hotel rooms
The first lady's trip totaled $81,523.64, including $13,221.30 in flights, $3,925 in rental cars, and $64,377.34 in lodging.

And the Biden ski weekend cost $115,777.61, including $5,315 in flights, $92,596 in accommodations, and $17,866.61 in rental cars.

And we complain when Target lays off people and cancels health insurance for part timers.  pfft...

It looks like 451 corporate jobs are being cut world-wide.  There are 10,000 in the Twin Cities alone.  Although every job is important, it seems like a miniscule amount of their work force.

Target reports it is due to the recent breach in security and lack luster holiday sales due to a weak economy.

Who is to blame??

Every Administration and Congress since 1980, that's who.

I think you may have your dates mixed up a little.  You might just have to go back to before we plunged into a recession in1980-1981.

That would Jimmy's fault, I bet he's been happy since Barry got elected.

CC, Biden went skiing??? Why do I have visions of Sonny Bono skiing?
Ah, a perfect world :)

Also, 750 positions that were open are now dissolved.

THANKS OBAMACARE!  :sarcasm:
