Saw the yellow sign on the side of the highway advertising Emmons Borderfest on August 20 and 21 while giving a buddy a ride to work in LM. Looks like it should be a rockin time again. 
Not sure how long they have been doing this, but our family has been going for a couple of years now. Looks like they have the Johnny Holms band like usual on Friday and then Bad Monkey on Sat. I saw Bad Monkey play in AL and they were really good. Gonna take in the parade on Saturday and grab some pork chops at the legion. The small towns seem to have something that the bigger cities just can't match when it comes to festivals. Anyone else gonna make it?

I am going to the All Veterans Picnic in Northwood starting at 11am and then heading over to Emmons with the rest of the VFW guys to line up for the parade at 3pm. Should be a good time.
