Minnesota State Rep. Linda Slocum Introduces Extreme Gun Ban Bill

PETITION BACKGROUND
null1. Current owners of “assault weapons” may keep them if they are registered and stored in line with newly defined local regulations – and inspected annually by the police. (This is an invasion of privacy of law abiding citizens.)
2. The total ban on all private sales and transfers, including for inheritance, family, curio and relics, and antique firearms. (This will lead to the confiscation of private property.)
3. Prohibits persons delinquent in paying child support from possessing firearms. (Life situations change this does not make the gun owner a criminal.)( Another way to confiscate private property.)
This Bill should not be signed by our governor as it reads. This date February 28, 2018.

That bill is a whole lot of BS.  I see the anti gun fascists have been working overtime on that one.

The registration part is unenforceable, states that also passed their version of an assault weapons ban, that grandfathered assault weapons must be registered haven't had a very high compliance rate from it's citizens.

This is a pdf of MN HF 3022, anything with a strike is a change to existing law anything underlined is new.

I wouldn't worry about this legislation, it'll go nowhere..

They've gone overboard—almost any semiautomatic could be declared an assault rifle.

Yes, this is how the nazi party operates though, “let’s make a big splash, get some media attention and maybe a bit of this shit will stick”

^^Looks like your boy Trump has some changes in mind. age limit—expand background checks—keep guns from mentally ill people— take the guns, due process second—He even suggested a conversation on an assault weapons ban!

It wouldn't bother me a bit

Infringing upon due process doesn't concern you?
AWB isn't going to happen, the votes aren't there, nor should it happen.
1. There is no such thing in the firearm classification defining an "Assault Weapon"
2.  The last unconstitutional AWB had negligible impact.
3.  Modular firearms such as the AR/MCX/AK are "in common use" firearms and are constitutionally protected as per the 2nd Amendment.
4.  I'm sure after his meeting with the NRA yesterday afternoon, AWB is most likely off the table.
