I will not and would not ever vote for peggy bennit , reason -- all I have heard of her adds on the radio is trash talk of her opponent . I do not care what the opponent has or have not done, I want to know what you will do for us . this trash politics is the worst

I wouldn't vote for her either, and if she's elected her district, which includes Freeborn County, deserves the destruction she'll bring.

According to her own website:
She's a Constitutional Conservative.
A Compassionate Conservative (didn't Bush try that?)

She'll be fair minded in addressing constituent concerns, firm in standing for conservative principles.

People before politics - All constituents from the unborn to the elderly.

Why the only thing missing from her "I'm a tea party conservative" is a family values pledge - but we can trust her because of her trusty sidekick dog who knows honesty and fairness.

That's funny because my mailbox keeps getting filled up with plenty of "trash" talking literature from Savick's camp also.

Yeah the recycling centers are really gonna be seeing a lot of those pieces of campaign literature showing up in the coming weeks, I'm sure.

In regard to the debate -

It's interesting to hear the platforms and core beliefs of each party filtered through different candidates.

17 mailers on Saturday, all but 1 were for Savick/Bennett race. I didn't read any of them but I decided to count them before putting them in the recycling and I found a letter had fallen between two pieces. We need something like the Do Not Call list for our mailboxes.

Take it all up to the post office and put it in the "out of town" slot.  :D

Can you imagine how P.O.'d the P.O. would be if many people did that?

It's a targeted race. I've read over $200,000 spent on this race. What tells me everything about Peggy Bennett is when the Watershed got its money from the state. While she talked about how wonderful it was, she reminded people that these things really are local.

We're not a rich district. We're not Edina where cuts in taxes is something that will really benefit us. In eight years of Republican rule under Pawlenty, education got cut, state government aid to cities and counties got cut, state tuition at colleges nearly doubled. Roads and bridge repairs were ignored. Upper middle income to lower did not see any tax relief. And everything "local" like Peggy Bennett espouses, meant that the county had to shoulder more expenses (like half of court expenses) while shipping off the revenue to the state.

Our county has lost population, it's lost good paying jobs, our median income is below state averages. Yet like most Republicans, Bennett can only generalize what she would like to see happen, not what she will do. Why? Because the policies of tea party activists is actually detrimental to the best interests of the whole electorate. So they have to convince you to vote against what's best for you. You do that by demonizing what you're opponent has done. Not what you will do.
