There was an interesting highspeed chase last night that began near the Hayward rest area and ended 14 miles later (after reaching speeds of 110) with a flat front tire from a spike strip. The police were chasing the pickup truck because they didn't pay for their meal at Applebees.
I only have 3 mins of the audio because I didn't have the statewide band in the scanner. But after they made the arrest they did say the truck was stolen and there was an outstanding warrant on one of the two occupants.
