Most people here know my overall view of the reporting abilities of our local paper, after reading the "Excessive speeds add up to fatalities" article, I am almost sure that the paper's employee's just lock themselves in the basement with good old Albert and take what is spoon fed to them. First off, let's take the title, duh, how long did it take to come up with that fact?
Quote | Statistics tell us the greatest number of fatal and serious injury crashes occurs during the summer months. |
WOW! Imagine a state that has a large percentage of its income coming from both in-state tourist and out-state tourist having a high accident percentage during the tourism season.
Quote | In Minnesota, a majority of traffic fatalities takes place on rural two-lane highways. |
You're kidding! A state that has only a handfull of interstate highways has most of their accidents happen on two-lane highways? Duh, where else are they going to happen? There's only 2 other places (roads) that I can think of accidents happening, one would be on normal gravel roads (like we have around here) and the other would be on the fire roads that you find up north in the state, we don't have many more types of roads here.
Quote | We need to fix the problems we've got before we create more. |
Did I read this right? Did this come from the same paper that told its readers:
Quote | We hope residents will allow the councilors this learning opportunity, accept that previous loans may not have met qualifications, but at this point, they are moot. |
I'm starting to think that the paper just collects essay's from the local schools and publishes them as editorials. No wonder there was little to no coverage about the Herald incident here locally, the paper might have hired new people, but it is under the exact same piss-poor management.

Oh my... Looks like Captain Obvious was the senior contributing writer to that editorial.
On a related note, I'd like to submit a request now for a gagging smiley AND a "D'OH!" head-smacking smiley.

I think the managment is actually worse than it was before. Total and complete biased morons. They leave not a shred of doubt.
