Did you all notice how wonderfully clear the streets were after that last snowfall? I wonder what snake oil salesman sold them that stuff. I think a good old fashioned plow wouldn't have been out of order. I know they said the stuff they sprayed on the street was supposed to keep the snow from sticking, but did it work? I didn't notice a great difference.

It's called pre-wetting, and it's primarily useful when applied before it snows to bare pavement.
It also doesn't work if it gets too cold to be activated.
