Once again the UN and World Health Org. are pushing their agenda for world dominace and compliance through taxation, and infringing on the sovereignty of the United States.
These bone heads are really pushing for some kind of Utopian world like that in the movie Demolition Man, GOD that kind of life would suck.

This is why a government run healthcare system can't work.
It would force all those who take care of themselves pay for all those who don't. It'll be cold day in hell the wino on the street gets the same healthcare as someone who works and save and pays.

g-money--excellent observation--the exact same scenario you describe is playing out in Canada--you know, the place that liberals hold up as a SUCCESS STORY in government health care.
The indian population has drained the health care resources. Called "treaty" indians, they live on the reservation, and are totally dependent on the government for doling out funds. Alcoholism is rampant--up to 1/3 of the village men may be in "treatment". One of the guides at the fishing lodge that I fly people to is on his 4th set of false teeth in 3 years--they either get knocked out in a fight, or lost during an alcohol binge. Life expectancy is low. In the meantime, waits for elective surgery are currently 15 months, dental is about a year. So many people decided that they wouldn't wait that they started patronizing private doctors--so the government made private physicians illegal. This has been a boon for clinics on the U.S. side of the border, as Canadians come here for health care--including the recent Prime Minister, Chretien!

Would this be something like the US and varies National Health Agencies pushing their agenda through taxation and laws that are infringing on the sovereignty of the United States Citizens in the areas of things like tobbacco use, alcohol use and illicit drug use? I mean, the WHO and the UN are just taking a cue from how sucessful the US has been on these fronts it would seem...

If I remember correctly, the so called BS SIN taxes were also cooked up by those in the W.H.O. And those in the health and insurance industries jumped on it, saying because of those who smoke and drink are the ones causing the raise in costs, to that I say B.S.
As for the illicit drug usage, I seen a segment on the History Channel™ and most of the laws passed were purely on the basis of race, ie.. opium was used by many chineese, while the R.R was being built, so to get rid of em they just passed a law that outlawed opium.
