U.S. Government Opens Special 5,000-Acre Area Where Americans Can Go Blow Off Steam
RATON, NM—Federal officials on Friday unveiled a new 5,000-acre national park where frustrated Americans can blow off some steam by smashing rows of televisions with a bat, screaming at the top of their lungs into a canyon, or playing tracks by Motörhead and the Angry Samoans at extreme volumes. "I'm as angry as anyone that we can't pass an energy bill or end Don't Ask, Don't Tell," said Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM), who christened the facility by igniting the contents of a trash barrel, which he then upended and kicked down a rocky slope. "But in the meantime, the least we can do is give people a place to go where they can just fricking have at it." Opening day also included an unscheduled appearance by President Obama, who calmly entered the park, let loose a furious stream of undiluted profanity, punched several trees for 55 minutes, and then returned to Washington.
Vote Murtaugh just to keep Vern from getting in. Too bad we can't get all those people who plan on writing write-ins on board to vote for Murtaugh, so the others CAN run a campaign when Mike turns the position down. Otherwise I think they're just going to mess up the votes.

In case you hadn't read this in another thread...a vote for Rasmussen is a vote for nepotism to continue on our dollar:

When it comes to city/county politics it seems to be: we don't only vote for the wrong people but we get their family members jobs too.
Apparently Albert Lea=Nepotism
Mayor possibly to be Rasmussen got his mom Kaye a fill-in position when the admin assistant in the manager's office was gone this summer and Rasmussen had already put his hat in the ring for Mayor.
It was even suggested she'd be a great resource for the new city manager.
People should also realize what connection he has to theVogt family: Rasmussen's brother is married to Mrs. Gerry's daughter. Hmmmm No wonder Vern was so interested in not having sewer rates go up too much for industrial users Or giving Wedgewood Cove whatever they want.
Same ole same ole shame on the voters who vote these people in even when they know the stuff they've done.
QUOTE
Rasmussen said he feels comfortable with the media and letting them know about various things going on in the city.
There may sometimes be time-sensitive issues because of business that may not be able to be talked about initially, but otherwise, he noted he thinks it’s important to keep the media in tune to what’s going on.

Rasmussen is also on the Board of Directors at Port Authority/Greater Jobs Inc. with Ellen Kehr..

But a bigger question for Vern is about conflict of interest inside city hall with Tiger Hills - and the city finance director not paying her bills. What is Vern doing about that issue that he created by voting to subsidize the Moen's housing development.
I've always believed that for the majority of teachers, MEA week was a sham.
An excuse to take a 4 day vacation after only about 7 weeks of going back to work from having the entire summer off...and for those that attend, it's nothing more than an excuse to get together and party.
Sure there are meetings, etc...but let's be honest. The majority of the members do not attend and the ones that do go for the booze and a piece of arse. Just saying.
MEA should move their conference to the summer when school is not in session. School could be 2-3 days shorter in the spring. Our children are let out for memorial weekend and then the kids go back to school for a few more days and don't learn a thing because all they are thinking about is summer vacation. Flip flop that week with MEA week and the kids would be better for it.
