Charter communication
billing....aaargh!!
Posted on: July 03 2007,12:55pm by bianca

I'm just curious to know if anyone has had the priveledge to call the Charter 888 customer service number to straighten out any billing problems. I just had that opportunity to spend 45 minutes to help them get their mistake figured out.

I try very hard not to be prejudiced and I have had 3 1/2 years of spanish and lived on the Mexico border for 3-4 years so my spanish is not great by any means, but it is probably a little more than the average joe.

There is not one person at that Charter number that speaks English that you can speak to, even the supervisors speak "spanglish".

IMO, it is so infuriating to have to be put on hold for fifteen different times with the canned music in your ear. But the clencher is having to say, "huh?" 30 times because they speak this "language" that is somewhere between english and spanish but at this uncanny speed. I was ready to rip the phone off the wall as I tried very hard to stay pleasant.

(It's actually kind of funny now to think back at how many times I actually had to say, "huh"? They were probably thinking "stupid american woman, can't she hear.")

Ok, back on track. Because Charter has the franchise on cable and you apparently can't get local news from a dish, I guess I am stuck with them for cable but what does everyone use for internet service? Are you happy with it and how much does it cost per month? I know a friend of mine uses Peoplepc and is happy with that dial up service but would like to know more options.

The info would be greatly appreciated.
